Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyEverything is fine. The inside restaurant offers good food and good price. However, the second day in my room appeared a very sick old guy and he snored loudly, breathe difficultly and coughed a lot the whole night. I was so scared if I got some infection from him. The hostel should see if the customer is so sick then you should recommend him to doctor, not easily admitted him in room. That guy was so sick that he finally has to go to doctor around early morning but it means I couldn't sleep properly the whole night and the room smelled terrible for us. We had to open the door to ventilate the room.

Greece•There was a small bin only in the room with the shower, a bit uncomfortable in case you needed to throw something that you cannot flush. •Unfortunately, there was no hand's soap, so make sure to bring your own :) Same for the shampoo! •The breakfast is from 06:30 to 09:00, something that makes it a bit difficult for you to wake up. I would like it to be until 10:00. Check out was at 10:00, so I guess that's the reason for the early breakfast. •I would like a curtain on the bed for more privacy, but that's mostly a suggestion :) •The pillow was my least favorite thing. •It was not that clean (probably because of someone who came before me), but it was not extremely bad or something too much.
• The hostel is located in one of the most beautiful places in the city! There is green everywhere! There are parks where the river Alzette passes through, castles and all the area seems like a fairytale! •There is a bus stop just 4mins away and night bus passes through it too! • The hostel has a restaurant, where you also go there to take your free breakfast (pretty decent by the way). It also has an area for ping pong, billiards, a playground for the kids etc. • The staff was really nice and kind all the time! • The room had 4 beds, 1 toilet and 1 shower which was pretty dope! I was given bedsheets and pillowcase, sealed and clean. I chose my bed and placed them by myself, which is completely fine for me! :) The view from the window was also beautiful! Lockers are inside the room and you can have your own locker, but make sure it's a small one. They have enough space for a 10kg luggage! •They have mini hair dryers, so just ask from the reception. They also offer washing machines etc with a small extra fee. •They keep a deposit of 3 euros for the keycard, but no worries, they give it back on your check out!

Ukraine1. The room was very very cold, I got sick for the night there, should sleep in jumper, in the corridor it’s much warmer than in the room. 2. Towel and lockers are for additional price. 3. Walking to this location is on hills so be ready if you have a big heavy bag. 4. The sheet looked disgusting
Normal option to spend one night but very cold in the room, it feels a lot because outside it’s very cold too, shared areas and rooms are clean, they let you to leave your baggage after check out

Spain- 8 people per room is excessive. It’s a pity you don’t have rooms with fewer people. I didn’t sleep well during the night I stayed because the other guests were noisy and snoring. But that’s not your fault and maybe I’m too old and picky for hostels ;) - The other guests didn’t take care of the showers - Towels should be for free and it would be nice if the bedlinen was already put on the beds
- Cheap for Luxembourg’s standards - Close to the centre (but be prepared for a lot of stairs) - Very friendly staff both in the reception and in the restaurant - Good and cheap lunch option - Simple but ok breakfast and good that it’s included in the price - Rooms and facilities in good condition

United StatesThe storage lockers only took a small lock, so the lock I brought with me did not fit.
Breakfast was good, a nice assortment of meats, cereals, breads and yogurt. Coffee, tea and water available. I liked that the beds were sturdy and wooden. Located at the lower portion of the city, so be prepared to walk up the stairs or the roads to get up to the upper section of the city.

GermanyThe breakfast could have had a little more variety with a few hot dishes included. The only option was to make oneself a sandwich. But apart from that the taste was really good.
The hostel was good. The rooms were clean with an attached bathroom and toilet. The location was quite good, close to the popular tourist attraction bock du casemates.

The shared bedroom where ok. They have some spaces for people to get together in the lobby. Very good for people traveling alone or with friends on a budget.

United KingdomNo trashcan/bins in the toilet in the dorm rooms- as a woman on her period this was not great or comfortable. When I asked the staff about it they told me there is a bin in the bedroom. But the toilet needs one too. Soap by the sink to wash hands would also be hygienic.
Ideally located, easy access to city center by a short walk or bus. The rooms were basic but comfortable. Breakfast included though after staying for 3 nights it’s a bit repetitive. Free lockers after checkout- just need a lock. Spacious common areas and quiet outdoors.

GermanyI really disliked the breakfast becoz of bossy Chef who just wanted us to hurry up and leave the table as soon as clock hits 9 O'clock. Also, not so much options and quantity for people who are staying in the hostel.
I liked the location, as you can be in city center in 15 mint of walk. From the Window, we could watch trams passing from the bridge. The location is totally 10 on 10, in less than 4 kms of walk you get all the beautful locations around the hostel.

SwitzerlandWe were just falling/had just fallen asleep (around midnight) when our room mates burst in like passive aggressive elephants in a china shop. Very loud and left the lights on for ages. Couldn't fall asleep until after 2am. Of course this isn't the hostel's fault. You run the risk of having inconsiderate room mates whenever you get beds in a hostel shared room.
Great location, just at the foot of the bock at the beginning of the Pfaffenthal valley! Luxembourg old town is lovely! Take a walking tour. Reserve enough days to truly explore the city. Free public transport is also great. Bus stop just above hostel. Direct bus from international bus station to hostel.

GermanyDIY for the rooms. Breakfast is poor quality. Can add some more items. Timing for breakfast can be extended. 6:30 to 9 is probably a difficult choice for some. Can provide basic toiletries, like hand wash and towels.
One of the rooms was given to us. The location is very scenic and just beside the river and the fort's via duct. There were all kinds of amenities provided. The bed was nice..the view was nice. The staff were kind.

United KingdomThe pillows aren’t the best. You have to pay 5€ for the towel if you need one, quite expensive in my opinion.
The hostel is quite big and the facilities are great. Good location given that transport is free, you can easily walk to/from the city centre. Free breakfast but make sure to get there early as it gets busy after 9am.
