Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe breakfast was ok, a usual continental breakfast with rather cheaper options and a little choice for those with allergies (no milk alternatives, no lactose free products), but ok for the price.
Overall, hotel was good value for money and I would stay there again. Clean, in a calm street, 10 minutes walking to the city center.

PolandThe walls are probably from papier. You can hear everything that happens around. If you light sleeper, it's not for you.

SerbiaExcellent location, next to the main bus station, railway station and the central market, an easy 10-minute walk from the old town and a cathedral square, with a good public transport connection to the airport. Room was small and basic, but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was really good. If you are for a short city break visit to Riga, this accomodation is a really good choice.

IrelandHotel is an easy 10 minute stroll to Old City, Central Market and Central Station. Neighbourhood is really quiet. Academy of Sciences Observation Deck and Holocaust Musuem are almost next door. Buffet breakfast gives superb choice to guests. Fruits, cereals, various cold meats , juices, cheeses, fish, vegetables etc. Bathroom and bedroom were really spacious, 2 large windows looking onto beautiful Lutheran church in cobbled square outside.

United StatesI am not a fan of large TV screens in breakfast rooms, especially when the volume is high. It is a long-ish walk to the old town, if that is your interest, though one may view the walk as paying one’s self to walk it, considering the economical nature of the hotel.
This hotel provides a valuable alternative to other hotels in Riga that can cost twice or three times as much. The reception staff was helpful, accommodating an early arrival and finding me additional pillows to prop up my leg, per doctor’s orders, following an injury to my knee. The congeniality of staff is a real plus. The room provided shelter and like the bathroom was spotless. The breakfast though not splendid was very good for the price. The hotel is a moderate walk to the Central Market. The neighborhood may be viewed as authentic, as opposed to tourist ground zero. I had the impression that the staff worked hard to make their hotel a welcoming and comfortable place while still being economical. I had to cut my trip short because of the knee injury, but I am thankful for the moment of rest the hotel provided me.

SlovakiaThe "orange juice" at breakfast was neither orange in fruit, orange in colour or juice. The only sweet breakfast options were - porridge, cake or jam. There was only one server at breakfast, often on her phone, so things were missing frequently. Please also resolve the unsteady tables. The toilet could've been a little more in the space instead of attached to two walls - there really was enough space to have done it differently. The shower gel you get is the same as soap, nothing else is offered. Definitely not enough storage space for more than 3 days. The carpet has seen better days in terms of cleaning as well. And worst for last - when we asked for cleaning the room as we needed the bedsheets changed, they only took out the rubbish and changed the towels - not only were the bedsheets the same, the bed wasn't even made up, the duvet was just thrown messily over the bed.
A really good price for a hotel right by the Central Market, so walking distance to the centre if you aren't too lazy. Also right next to a convenience store and very close to some supermarkets. The room was spacious with a great view.. and a little uphill trek, which was strange. Breakfast was tasty with enough options for us, although the offer almost didn't change during our stay. Wifi works well.

BrazilThe hotel is a bit old and the neighborhood looks strange at night. Everything so dark and quiet and no one at the streets, but the bus dropped us close and the hotel was 24h so there was someone at the reception.
Great location, easy to drop after airport and walkable to the city center. The beds were big and there were two windows that could be opened besides the heating system. The bathroom was also spacious and good. Breakfast was ok, the price was really great. And 24h reception available to help.

United KingdomThe mattress was thin and moved when on the bed and the shower over the bath could have done with plastic padding on bottom of the screen to prevent water going through.
Good location. Near observation tower, holocaust memorials, central market and short walk to centre. Mini shop with 24/7 access was useful and room was spacious

TaiwanThere is a small electrical noise coming from the fridge. If you are sensitive to that kind of noise, then earbuds would be necessary.
The room is quite large for the price I paid(around 31.2 euro/night), and it was cleaned up every night during my stay. To my surprise, there ‘s an opener in the room. However, you need to walk around 20 mins to go to the old quarter.

SloveniaThe dining room is not big enough, so they have an additional room, but you're a bit far from the food.
The hotel is located in a very good location, close to the market, academic buildings (with the possibility of panoramic views at the top). The city center is within walking distance. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was clean. Also, breakfast was very good!

CroatiaIt's rather old-fashioned and the wi-fi was not stabile. The neighborhood looks a bit grim, although it feels safe.
I liked the location - the closeness of the market, the panorama platform at the Academy of Science, the bus station and, of course, the old part of town. Everything walkable. The room and the bathroom were large enough.

EstoniaI don't think that nowadays it is necessary, or even legal, to collect such a volume of personal data during registration. I don't understand for example what the hotel does with the date of issue of my ID card? If you stay in the hotel for 2 days and the towels are not thrown on the floor and they are still changed, it is not very environmentally friendly behavior. You might think to introduce a system like elsewhere, that towels are changed only at the customer's request, i.e. when they are thrown on the floor. It is also not very normal to vacuum behind the door where people are sleeping at seven in the morning.
The room was a good size.
