the kitchen could do with some attention. the hand towels for people to dry their hands should be replaced daily. new sponges are required in the kitchen.

the rooftop terrace is very impressive. the hostel is in a good location in the Medina and is very quiet. the bathrooms are clean and have very hot water. the toilet on the rooftop terrace has the best view in Essaouira.

All the staff is very friendly, the rooftop terrace is perfect for chilling, socializing and seeing the sunset, and the food served there at the bar is tasty. Even though it's a cheap hostel it keeps the minimum standards and since each floor can only be accessed by the people staying on it (they have security codes to enter the floor and room) the cleanness level doesn't get affected so much during the day. A very good budget friendly stay.

They had maintenance work during our stay. They painted walls and stair railings, which made it difficult and even dangerous to walk the stairs.

There was quite some dust in the room (visible on the mirror and floor), most lockers are stuck (you can't open/use them), both the rooms and the toilets need some reparations and renovation. I hope you guys can repair it after making it up again after covid. ;)

The staff was amazing and the rooftop is great!! I visited a few hostels in town and this was really good value for money.

Very loud music being played until midnight, and by music I mean drums being banged, and this was both nights I was there. There wasn't much consideration by some of the other people staying in the hostel for people who might need to go to sleep before midnight if they had to be up early the next day.

The whole vibe of the hostel was really relaxed and the actual building itself has some really cool architecture and decorations, definitely the nicest interior so far I've come across for a hostel. The facilities were good and there was a rooftop resteraunt where you are allowed to hang out.

Unfortunately, the value for the private room that I booked isn't quite up there with the more affordable dorm beds. The mattresses on the double bed in my room were really, really saggy and ended up hurting my back (maybe I'm too old for this lol). There was also just a single toilet on each floor, I wasn't provided a towel (although i never did get around to asking, and they may well have had one for me), and the whole place smelled pretty poorly. Also the tajine de beouf I had at the restaurant was mostly beef tallow, bone, and dates. But as far as a backpacker's hostel goes, the place was really fantastic.

This is a pure backpacker's hostel. It is not a fancy vacation riad like some others. If you're aware of that going in, you'll be pleased here. The value for the dorm beds is truly exceptional. Every night there is a fun jam session downstairs. The place is not quiet nor does it really claim to be. The rooftop is one of the highest terraces in the medina, dwarfed pretty much only by the minarets. The terrace is extremely well done and a wonderful place to hang out. The most important feature of Atlantic Hostel, aside from the great value of the dorm beds, is the absolutely stellar staff and the other wonderful guests you'll meet. I highly recommend it for solo travelers looking to make friends.
