Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAmazing hospitality. They helped us book all our activities during check-in (sand boarding, quad bike, camel ride). Breakfast and dinner were both really good. Beds were comfortable and they even offered us some extra blankets since we visited during winter. Bathroom was clean and showers had plenty of hot water. Rooftop was nice to watch the stars at night. Great value, definitely would stay again ! :)

MaltaI loved everything at this place.
Travelled 1st Dec 2023 for 2 nights at Merzouga and this stay was the HIGHLIGHT of our holiday in Morocco. I always wanted to have the accommodation so close to the dunes and thats what we got. We hired a car and arrived in Morocco with our hired car. Lot of parking space. As soon you get out of the accommodation you will touch the desert and me and my husband watched the sunrise everyday. Magical. The breakfast and dinner was so delicious and cooked dinner as per our request. Top service and they made us so much welcome. I always choose our stay that is run by families and I never been disappointed. Facilities/Cleaniness at its best. The room, the bed and shower was super nice and cozy with hot water. The price we paid is so so so reasonable and cheap. Location is the best which I definately recommend full power. Well done and thank you to Dad Muhammed and sons Mihammed & Ismael for making us special and for the excursion that you shared with us. This family is a blessing for us. Thank you for the experience which we will treasure for life. Miss this place a lot.

SloveniaAccomodation itself is very nice, with a big garden inside, a bathroom maybe need some improovement.
All my recommendations for this accomodation. Family there is very nice, two brothers: Ismail and Mhamed and their father Mohamed are so kind. For the good price they can arrange you a camel ride to the desert and sleeping in a desert camp with a dinner, you can also take a jeep tour by their family and go to visit Black desert, nomad village, mine, salt lake ... and of course driving up and down the dunes. The accomodation is next to the sand dunes, therefore you can go walking there at any time you want. Breakfast was delicious and they can also prepare you a dinner. We order a big tajine with meat balls and it was delicious. There is an air condition in the room and a big parking infront of the house. There is also possibility of camping.

GermanyJust before the desert there is this wonderful guesthouse. The host family is really nice and welcoming, organizing everything you need! The food is rich and delicious. The best thing is, that you can basically walk from the guesthouse in the dunes to see sunset / sunrise. Thank you very much for this experience!

Having spent a while walking around the Erg Chebbi trying to find the best location to view the dunes our patience was rewarded by staying here. Cheerful, friendly and welcoming staff, lovely traditional room and fabulous unimpeded views of the dunes at sunrise and sunset. Easy walking distance to town. Plentiful breakfast. Highly recommend!

ItalyFantastc breakfast served inside or out. Best evening meal in Morocco, all homemade. Great Tajine. We enjoyed the company of the host, his son and family. They were relaxed, pleasant, not at all invasive. If we asked, the father had plenty of tales to tell about Merzuoga, life there and traditions ... and how certain aspects of tourism are spoiling it! (Especially the quadbikes!). We loved the fact that a wood fire was made especially for heating up water for the really hot showers. Please don't forget to ask beforehand and allow an hour for the water to heat up.

SenegalThis place was just perfect for us! It had everything we needed, it was close to the dunes and with an amazing view from the terrace. It also had a little inside garden. Mohamed and his son were very, very helpful and really treated us like family! They went out of their way to help us and make our stay great. They had free parking as well as wifi. They helped us get an overnight tour to the dessert, and we even got to meet their whole family at the end of our stay.

HungaryThe camels arrived late so we almost missed sunrise.
Easily accessible by normal car (short distance from tarmac road), but still at the very start of the sand dunes – so in the morning you just step out right into the desert. Organised camel rides are available at reasonable price. Perfect breakfast with a lot of choices.
