Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe whole place (especially the bathroom is a bit run down and not well cleaned / maintained) Mattresses are rock hard
Very friendly staff. Both Zac and his mother are very kind You will be sharing the flat with the mother (not specified in description). This was fine by me. I don't think she speaks much English (just Arabic, Spanish & French) Location is great - just next to a nice park. Not far from all the sights Bedroom is big and has a flat screen TV

United KingdomI found the address without problem but could not find the door to the apartment as there was no number on the door. The owner let me in when he arrived.
I stayed in a bedroom in an apartment. I liked the atmosphere of staying in someone's apartment. Very large living area and a nice room overlooking the park. Breakfast was a Moroccan style and very nice. The owner was most helpful and drove me to where I was going without charge.

EgyptToilet could be given more attention but ok.
It is a family home not a hotel and the host is a super nice person. Very hospitable and always showing much care and support if needed. The room is in an excellent location very close to the old Medina and the central train station. My room was overlooking a great green park view which was a nice view to wake up to. The room of course has its key to lock for safety.

PolandWell... description was misleading. This is private apartment of host's mom - who is a nice person and lives there, but we were not expecting that. Also she was surprised we booked option with breakfast, so she arranged something ultra-basic - 4 slices of sausage, tea, jam, bread. Bathroom is shared, no problem as such - but again - this is private bathroom of host's mom, and it wasn't mentioned in the description.
Good location, next to the big park, but ... very noisy street, lots of honking cars - there is a taxi stand nearby.

United KingdomSome confusion with breakfast on the first day which I think is booking.com error. It was sorted straight away with no problem and we had a good breakfast every day.
The most kind and generous host family. Excellent location and a safe area. Comfortable beds and a decent shower. If you are offered to have tajine with the family accept this offer and you will have a wonderful evening.

LithuaniaWasn't clear enough that it's a room, not an all apartment, so we were a bit surprised because we didn't expect to be living with anybody else.
A great location, next to Medina. The host was very helpful and friendly, showed us Medina, nice ocean viewpoint. We even cooked traditional moroccan tajhine together and ate dinner. Super nice 😊

GermanyIn the room my pillow cover has not been changed. It was dirty and it smelled weird, so I didn't use it. Yet, even without the pillow, the bed was too small and I had to sleep in a weird position ... i'm 190 cm tall. Blankets on the bed were very dirty, too. There was some small table next to the bed and the cover on the table looked like fruit has been rotting on it and it hasn't been washed in months. Also, the sockets in the room were hanging out of the wall. Now to the toilet ... The toilet seat was the most disqusting I've come across in 2 weeks of travelling Morocco. It could be at least cleaned once per year ... What bothers me the most is that this apartment is in the capital of Morocco and it was way more disqusting than the apartments in more remote regions! Why? ... There was also no toilet paper. Not the first day, not the second day. Kitchen and shower were also disqusting. There were no towels, so I wasn't able to shower and the night was even more miserable as besides waking up constantly due to noises outside I was also all sticky from the sweat. It's a shame. As mentioned, the host's friend was very nice, so it hurts me to leave a bad review. But this apartment does not deserve the rating it has. Perhaps the host's friend should run his own apartment business, because this was pretty terrible. I would be willing to pay 7 € (for a double-bed room) to sleep here, not more.
The guy who came to unlock the apartment and showed us around (host's friend) was incredibly nice. Most likely the friendliest guy we've met in Morocco (very genuine, caring). He even speaks pretty good German. The apartment is also large and the location good.

United StatesIt’s like an Airbnb. The person has to come and get you but nothing was specified at the time of booking. We called the property twice when we were at the location but no response so we had to go back to the train station and change our plans. There’s no name of the place and very difficult to find.

Be aware you'll live with a Moroccan family and is not like a hotel. If that's fine for you, feel free to book there. They were all extremely nice, also a friend of the family helped us getting a parking spot.

SpainIt isn't as advertised; you are effectively staying with the hosts mum in her flat, either in a twin or double room, the location on booking isn't accurate, and there is no reception to collect keys or check in. Both rooms have single glazed windows facing on to the street so any noise is heard. The one is my room didn't actually close properly, and shutter didn't close all the way. The flat is run down and dirty, and just not up to the standards of having guests- a cleaner needs hiring. There was mould and ants all over the only bathroom, toenail clippings on the bedroom floor, and the bed linen didn't smell very fresh.
The location was great- close to a main entrance to the Medina, and the hosts mum was friendly, although spoke no English.

United StatesIt’s not a 5 star hotel but it feel like home.
The location is perfect, it’s in the heart of the City. The room is big and looks the same as the picture. More than just the room and location, the owner (staff), Mr. Zack, is very wonderful. We meet a the coffee shop close by the property. He bought me a cup of coffee for welcoming and than checking me in. My First impression was the words that Mr. Zack said :“If you need help with anything in the City please let me know”. Later on, He called asking me if I would like to walk and see the city, He would be happy to show me. Then, He drop me to Hassan Tower Square. Unfortunately the day that I visited, The king of Morocco was there, so the Square was not allow the visitors. Instead of that, He walked me around the Medina , Oudayas , Andalusian Gardens and took the traditional boat from Rabat side to Sale. From Sale, he showed a bit of the town and took me back to Rabat by the tram. It was a very huge effort of him to me. Also the next day he took me to the train station for going to my next destination. ***Bonus, His mother made a big breakfast to me too***

IsraelThis is apt of an woman and her son and not as shown here that the entire apartment is at your disposal. I personally am not comfortable being in another person's home, in air bnb app there is an option to filter out such an option. To his credit, he is a nice guy who just wants you to have a good time. But this is where the good things end. The location - even though it is supposedly tempting to be in front of a garden, it is a noisy place with a taxi station next to it.. I didn't sleep all night because of the noise below. The apartment - not clean at all, it doesn't make sense to take money from people and not invest money back in the maintenance and cleaning of the apartment. Really disgusting. Ants on the bed and in the bathroom, mold on the walls, sockets broken and coming out of the walls. My stay was really unpleasant.
The Host is a nice guy
