Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalIt was quite difficult to find this place because we arrived late and the link which was sent via booking.com could not be opened.
Excellent breakfasts. We were lucky to enjoy a beautiful garden with blossoming almond trees right near the Dar.

SpainOur stay at Dar Bilal was nothing short of magical. The charming ambiance of the hotel, coupled with its proximity to the historic Ait Ben Haddou, created a truly enchanting experience. What made our time here truly exceptional was the warm embrace of Mohamed and his family. Their genuine hospitality transformed our stay into a memorable journey, from heartfelt greetings to personalized care. Dar Bilal itself is a masterpiece, a reflection of the family's dedication to creating a haven for their guests. The attention to detail in the decor and the cozy atmosphere made our stay unique. The meals, curated by the family, were a highlight of our visit. Breakfast and dinner were delightful starts and ends to the day, and the exceptional local cuisine served showcased the family's commitment to providing a true taste of the region. We wholeheartedly recommend Dar Bilal to anyone seeking not just accommodation but an immersive and familial experience. Our heartfelt thanks to Mohamed and his family for making our stay a treasure trove of beautiful memories. We eagerly anticipate returning to this haven in the future.

Netherlands-
Mohamed was an incredibly kind and welcoming host. Upon arrival we received some tasty snacks and tea. Our room had no hot water, so we were upgraded to a slightly bigger room that did have hot water (thank you!!). For our second evening we asked for dinner and the 3-course meal was among the best we had during our 10-day stay in Morocco. The breakfast was another level too.... We almost felt bad haha. So much pastries and extra's. Definitely the best during our trip.

United KingdomMy wife and I were looking forward to staying at Dar Bilal and we were not disappointed. Hosted by Mohamed, one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, who went out of his way to make our stay memorable. A 5 minute drive from Ait Ben Haddou; we found the location perfect and away from the more touristy areas. The Dar itself is super comfortable and tastefully decorated with plenty of break out areas to relax and enjoy a tea. The roof terrace was particularly nice in the evenings. The room and bed were great with aircon for added comfort. Breakfasts were delicious and enjoyed outside in the fresh morning air. We opted to have dinners at the Dar as well which were packed with flavour and are highly recommended. And thank you for the surprise birthday songs which meant so much!

AustraliaThe room is too dark: the only lightbulb on the ceiling is too dim (one 25-watt bulb). We had to change their lightbulb with our own 150-watt lightbulb to be able to see what we were doing in the room. The amount of light and brightness of all light bulbs in ceiling lights in bedrooms and bathrooms should definitely be increased. The room lacks any furniture (such a wardrobe, shelves) for guests for guests to put their belongings on. A wardrobe and/or various hooks or shelves on walls, a couple chairs should be provided in the room so that guest do not have to place all their belongings (such as their clothes at night) on the floor. We struggled to find the code for Wi-Fi. This was given to us only when we were leaving. The hotel should print their Wi-Fi code and display it prominently in the reception area, and should print the Wi-Fi code on small pieces of paper and put them on a bedside table in bedrooms. We reserved a room at a discount during a promotion month carried out by booking-com rather than the property, so its price-quality ration was acceptable. But if we had paid the full price (€45) without any discount, it would have been too expensive, overpriced for what it is. I hope the proprietor of this hotel will implement my suggestions and take onboard my advice.
The meals at dinner (for an additional cost) and at breakfast were good. The young tall man who greeted us was pleasant. However, there was some confusion upon our arrival — it seems the hotel did not know that we were arriving or which room we should be given. The young tall man had to call someone (presumably, the owner) to clarify all that. In the meantime, we had to just stand and wait, and there was an undesirable delay before we were given a room — it was not a smooth check-in experience. I expected the hotel to be ready for arrival of guests. Certainly, the hotel should know which room they intend to give to those guests. I also did not like that we send WhatsApp messages to both phone numbers provided for Dar Bilal (because we had questions to clarify) two weeks before our arrival, however, no-one has ever responded. This hotel does not engage with its clients prior to their arrival. We were the only guests staying in the hotel. Therefore, we expected to be given a larger triple room (as all rooms were empty anyway), however this hotel did not do so; whereas a hotel in Nkob gave us a free upgrade in similar circumstances.
