Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe booked a room without our own bathroom, so we used the shared toilets and shower. They were in good condition and clean, but there not so many so we had to share them with quite a number of other guests. This can be inconvenient if you're someone who likes their own space. The hostel is located in the small cute alleys of the medina; this means it's only accessible via steep stairs and cobble stone roads. I recommend bringing a backpack rather than a suitcase on wheels, and to first contact the hostel about accessibility if you are a person with disability.
Ahmed and Abdul welcome you in a very kind and warm manner. Together they speak at least five languages! Perfect hosts if you visit Marocco for a first time, they can help you find your way around. Both treat their guests like family and at the same time as princes and princesses; to every question there is a solution and a mint tea to share is never far away. They help guests commute from the airport, to see sights, share nice conversation in the garden... The hospitality is by itself a reason to stay here! It felt like a home away from home, in the middle of the business of the medina of Chefchouaen. Also a shout out to the kindest cleaning personnel! The hostel itself has a calm atmosphere and offers a shared garden and two rooftops. The interior design is beautiful, spacious but cozy. The garden is also a dream. During our stay it was very peaceful and calm, but also filled with nice people who were chill and open for conversations and doing some activities together if you were up for it. We even organised a nice shared dinner for all the guests during our stay together with another guest and Abdul :)

United KingdomThis place is a gem. I stayed in the dorm 2 nights. Traditional riad, spotlessly clean (I saw them perform the huge clean that they do every 20 days). Abdul is an amazing host, so much time for his guests and so gentle/caring. I miss this place already - and who says that these days?? Very homely but simple, with a gorgeous garden and roof terrace. The shower is simple but it’s completely ample and has hot water. Don’t miss this experience if you are a gentle soul - definitely not a party place - everyone in bed by 10pm :-) Perfect. Oh and did I mention the breakfast? :-)

Beautiful garden and terraces, cool older building. The innkeepers are so lovely. Breakfast was the best we had in Morocco.

United KingdomDue to an absence of heating and with lots of hard floors/surfaces it was very cold, there was also no warm water in our room.
Well located, Abdul and Ahmed were fantastic hosts who have cultivated a laid back and welcoming atmosphere. The little garden was beautiful, as were the views from the terrace overlooking the valley and mountains. The room was clean, spacious and simple. For the money we paid it was great value overall.

AustraliaGreat location within the Medina not far from the main gate and about 15-20 MAD by taxi from the CTM bus station (or a 20 minute walk uphill). Abdililah was friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was generous and filling. The property has a terrace with city and mountain views. Room was clean and warm.

SpainThe only downside to our otherwise wonderful experience was that the room tended to be a bit chilly
Our stay at Dar Dadicilef in Chefchaouen was truly exceptional. The hosts' warm hospitality and valuable recommendations greatly enriched our experience, while the accommodation's ideal location and enchanting Moroccan décor provided the perfect backdrop for exploring the Blue City. Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations, making Dar Dadicilef the perfect choice for anyone seeking a memorable and authentic experience in Chefchaouen.

CanadaIt was a great place to stay and Abdul went above and beyond to help me. The room (#6) was huge m with a tub and full sitting area. The place was also very quiet. I did not hear the calling to prayer at all (I do find the sound very mesmerizing though!)

JapanNothing.
In the middle of medina of Chefchaouen but very quiet at night. The owner and his son are so friendly and helpful. I forgot to remove the lid of water drain in bathroom so my room was flooded. The son helped me to mopped all the waters and never complain about it. I felt sorry that I forgot to leave tips for that. A decent and great breakfast is provided. Will come back definitely. 100% Highly recommend!
