Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe would have preferred to eat on the upstairs terrace during our stay but unfortunately it was too windy. The dining room is a little gloomy, but the food was excellent.
The young owners from Nomad heritage built the hotel on a piece of land owned by their father which opened in 2022. Lovely chatting to Youssef about their history. The hotel is very stylish and every detail of the place reflects a passion to provide the best service. Welcomed on arrival with tea and nuts which was most welcome. The rooms are large and airy, we had one of the most comfortable beds in our entire trip (actually quite a rarity) and with views across the desert, it provides a genuine experience of the region. We had breakfast and dinner here. They try to offer something a little different to standard Moroccan fayre and is beautifully presented. The breakfast was particularly good, especially the berber egg and tomato ‘omelette’.

Every room is spotless clean. We had a special lunch specially curated as it was my husband’s birthday. The pool was clean too.

Merzouga is a unique place on earth, worth to visit at least once in your lifetime but can be difficult in the heat of July. Nevertheless, staying at this amazing Villa makes everything easier. We arrived during the hottest out of the day after a very long drive. But all difficulties vanished like in a miracle when we received a friendly welcome by Youssef and his brother with refreshments and tea in the air conditioned “salon”. Our room had everything we could need, it was very beautiful and comfortable, super clean and facing the amazing orange dunes of the desert. Air conditioning and WiFi were perfect, the dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast. The location could not be better, just a few meters from the real desert, offering the easiest access for a walk on the dunes, which is a great experience. But above all was Youssef himself. A man tirelessly dedicated to his guests, who never stops before making sure that they feel as good as possible. He even managed to keep the pool clean of sand on a windy day so that we could cool down in the evening. He shared generously his knowledge of the area, the Berber heritage and his family exciting history (which is very proud of) and he also guided us to a short desert tour which was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. A man one of a kind to whom we are truly grateful.

United KingdomNothing at all
Our room was stunning, beautifully crafted and decorated, so much detail and work in every conner of the room and the hotel (from the stunning wooded celling work to the mosaic tables everything was stunning), the roof has beautiful views over the dunes and the pool is the perfect place to relax. But the best part of our stay was the owner Youssef. He was so kind, helpful, generous, considered and informative. He offered us a great tour of merzouga which was fabetter from the tourist tours we could have booked ourself. It was authentic, genuine and super informative. We asked him a million questions from politics to culture and he answered all. Instead of the arranged 3 hours tour he spend more than 5 hours showing us around. He also organised our sunset camel rides which was perfect. We mentioned that we love water melon so bought and served it for us. We are definitely coming back. Thank for making our stay so perfect Youssef.

United KingdomNothing - everything was perfect
Desert Villa was the best place. The hotel is beautiful and the view from the hotel of the Saharan dunes is stunning. The owner of the hotel, Yousef, along with Amar could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. We were greeted on our arrival by them both and made to feel instantly at home. The breakfast was fabulous and our evening meal was wonderful - really lovely fresh food cooked in-house. We were in Merzouga to see our daughter and her friend finish the Marathon des Sables and Youssef and Amar were so enthusiastic to learn of this. They welcomed them both at the end of the race providing them with drinks and snacks and insisting that they use the shower to freshen up. They really went above and beyond throughout our stay. All in all a perfect stay and I would highly recommend a stay at this amazing hotel.

United StatesWas sad to leave the property!
I could not have made a better choice. Youssef went out of his way to answer all of my pre-arrival questions without hesitation. I was particularly drawn to the property not only because of the quality of the accommodation but also the fact that Youssef was willing to arrange a hiking tour in the dunes for us - this was quite unique. Upon arrival, we received one of the warmest welcomes that we have ever had at a hotel from Youssef and Amar. I really appreciated that and it made me feel very much at ease in being there. The room we received was spotless - probably the cleanest of any on our stay in Morocco. The bed was super comfortable and the HVAC worked perfectly to keep us comfortable. Also, the artistic details in the room were very unique and much appreciated. We ate at the hotel throughout our stay and can attest that they have a very clean kitchen as the food sat very well with us. Also, my husband has some dietary restrictions which I informed them of prior to our stay and they were very attentive in making sure that the menu planned each night took into account his dietary needs. This was an area of concern for us given that all of the hotels serve a set menu for dinner. However, we were very (happily) surprised when Youssef recounted the dietary modifications upon our arrival without prompting and then further modified our food when I had casually mentioned something to him about my own food preferences later in our visit - it is the kind of service I have only ever received previously at a 5 star property. Youssef took us personally on the dune hike which we both very much enjoyed and he made sure we were both safe and comfortable throughout. We retreated when the sun got too strong and he easily arranged to drive us to the hotel when we were ready to go back. I can confidently recommend this property to anyone and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to both Youssef, Amar and the other staff. Thanks for making our visit to Merzouga so special!

SpainApproaching this place as a stay with in a family premises you can not find any fault - just humble appreciation!
The hotel was not that easy to find, as our Waze app guided us over a bike trail 🥴 to the hotel. But if you follow the main road to the town gate you can follow the signs easily 😄!! The Desert Villa blends nicely into to village environment and the sign reflects the whole set up just perfectly: A unassuming, brass plate placed at the gate post shows the respect to the existing structure and culture but also references the high standard of quality that will greet you behind the sturdy, wooden gates. The hotel represents the owner’s childhood dream which he realised with great perseverance and tenacity. And you can see it in the layout, the tasteful decor and the attention to detail you find throughout the place. But in all that, the guest is still the centre of attention: Starting with a welcome tea which calmed us down after an 8,5h trip from Fes. The room was spacious and well equipped- and everything worked (not always the case in our experience here). The owner himself explained the options for dining in town, but we made to good choice to eat in house! The receptionist, in his authentic garb, was as dedicated and helpful and gave advice on options and opportunities for activities and explained about the culture and history. At the end he left us with a calligraphy , actually it was more of a painting of our names skilfully produced in front puf our eyes. Before we left the owner even drew a map indicating the way, showing worthwhile sightseeing locations complete with aproxima. distances: It came in very handy as the internet coverage on the way to Quarzazate was very spotty. A memorable stay which we completed with an equally impressive camel ride through the dunes.

GreeceThe most welcoming place we have been in Morroco, and the cleanest. Yousef knows how to offer authentic hospitality from the heart, and beyond expectations, really makes you feel at home. He pays attention to the detail, and treats you as a friend would do. Even the mesmerizing aroma of orange blossom as you enter the building makes you feel that the experience will be top quality! We loved the extra clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, comfortable bed, lovely smelling towels, spotless bathroom, nice furniture and beautiful wooden carved ceilings. A modern riad, with beautiful details, modern amenities, good wifi in the room, good food, and an extra welcoming and helpful host. The riad is in a peaceful area, located next to the desert if you want to just go and explore on foot. I totally recommend and would happily go back.
