We had an incredible stay at this hostel! Simon, our host, was an absolute gem. He welcomed us warmly and took the time to show us around, offering invaluable tips for our desert adventure. Simon's insights were invaluable. Thanks to his recommendations, we discovered hidden treasures and had unforgettable experiences that truly made our trip special. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, and had a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were friendly and always available to help with any questions we had. Plus, the communal areas provided a great space to connect with other travelers and share stories. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel. Thanks to Simon and the wonderful team for making our stay so memorable. We'll definitely be returning!

Would recommend a bit of an upgrade to some of the shared living spaces and rooms. Would be great to have some soap and towels in the bathrooms. Room was advertised as having a beach and Mountain View, but it didn’t have any view. However, the shared terrace had a view of the city.

Simon was very helpful and the volunteers Enzo and Benjamin were lovely. The rooftop terrace was a great place to chill and do yoga. Generally, a friendly vibe and place.

The taxi can't take you all the way to the hostel because it's inside the medina. You'll have to walk a bit from where the taxi drops you off :(

Staying at Simon's hostel was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, the facilities were clean, and his hospitality made me feel right at home. I can't wait to come back!

The Wifi could be better

The Hostel was amazing. The best thing about it were the many young people in the hostel and Simon our host/ tour guide :)) He took the time to show us hidden gems and had amazing tipps as a local. While we were there we made some homemade pasta from scratch with the whole hostel and got to know many people. Note that the Wifi doesn’t work in the rooms but other than that the room was very clean and comfortable. The hostel also has an amazing terasse with a kitchen.

Hard to say, anything not spotlessly clean or fully functional adds to the charm of the place!

Simone was very king, generous and helpful! Always making sure I was okay, showing me round the Medina and giving me tips on where to go. The room was beautiful and authentic.

Maybe a proper bathroom separate for the room would feel more comfortable. But the host is really nice and helpful, and helped me find a solution to feel more comfortable, thanks a lot for that :)

It’s a little bit noisy since the entrance hall is used as a community place and you can hear that in the rooms.

Really nice place, location is also very good and the stuff is very friendly. Our room was nice.

the bathroom in the private left something to be desired and the wifi was non-existent in the room. to enter the hostel, people have to ring the bell, but most of the time, employees are hanging out on the roof and it takes some time to get downstairs, meaning the bell is often rung multiple times and clearly heard throughout the hostel

the private was comfortable enough. The vibe of the people working there is very cool. The location is hard to beat

The breakfast was not until ten. It also costs extra but we knew that in advance. There are plenty of places to have breakfast outside the hostel or outside the medina though.

The hostel is located close to the centre of the medina. The room for two people was very comfortable with a nice shower. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. There is a nice rooftop balcony to hang out in the evening. For this price I can highly recommend this place. Thank you!

There was nothing specific that I didn't like but if I would nitpick I wished there was some faster connection but but the connection they have is good for an average Internet consumer social media and everything but if you're work on something heavy I would recommend working on a Caffè

some ants at the end of the 3days in the bedroom. But no big deal.

the hostel manager gave us a bunch of recommendation. Organised the quad bookings, the hammam bookings and the camel riding booking for us, negotiated the prices and was super friendly. Even went for lunch with us. He even offered cooking classes as he was a chef. The hostel is nice, bedrooms comfortable and the upstairs outdoor terrace, the cherry on the top. Thanks heaps

Didn't find anybody at first when we came, had to go find the guy on the rooftop. Had to ask for towels. Bathroom was very small, no soap. Beds are uncomfortable, unless you like sleeping on a plain wood.

I had a good time at the Youth Hostel. First of all, don't expect luxury accommodation when you book the most affordable hostel in Essaouira. But what you do get is an always good-humored, always helpful and warm-hearted operator, Tarek. He is a real local and can give you tips on everything and is always available for a nice chat on the sunny terrace. Thank you very much and best regards!!!

Nothing exactly, everything met my expectations, there was no problems.

It wasn't easy to get there, as the narrow streets, but it's in the Medina. The owner is very nice, easy going, would be up to help with anything, same as other workers there. As I'm of the bigger guys, instead of a bunk bed in shared room he upgraded me to the private room with the shower. Room were very well equipped and nice, big bed as well. Decided to stay another night, asked to keep same room for same price and i was told i could stay, as there was availability. Really appreciate for the room, same as the help with everything. Also the ride to the airport. Sadly my flight got delayed for 8 hours and i missed another flight home. 🥲 but in general it's really nice, affordable and friendly place. Market on the corner, could buy anything. Would definitely stay again!
