The hostel was nice and relaxed, with friendly staff and good internet. My first room had too many stairs, but Simon the manager, gave me a better room with fewer stairs. I'm thankful for his help and I'll come back to this hostel again soon.

This hostel feels just like home. The people who work here are really nice, like family. The shared spaces are cozy and welcoming. What's special about this hostel is how everyone gets along so well. This is the second time I have visited Essouria. Both times staying at this quiet, community driven hostel, close to my favourite spots within the port city. I intended to stay a few days, stayed a week. Must say something about the hospitality on offer here...

Leaving the hostel :(

I stayed at a nice hostel, and Simon, the friendly host, made it really great. The place was clean and comfy, and it was easy to go explore around because the hostel was in a good spot. Simon also gave me tips for fun stuff like surfing and horse riding. Plus, he cooked delicious tagines that added a tasty touch to my stay. Instead of a hostel breakfast, you can customize your own breakfast on a lovely terrace, making it an even better experience. Overall, it was a cool and memorable stay.

The guy was almost never at the hostel. The light was broken but he fixed it the next day There was no hair dryer and the guy offered one but we already checked out. The common areas and stairs were quite dirty and the building itself needed some maintenance (rusty furniture, old paint), even though it is a nice building. Our toilet was not like the ones in the photos, very small, dark and nothing to hang anything. I can see that there is potential but there is some work to do.

The location is very good, in the middle of medina. The bed is very comfortable. The guy (when he was there) was very nice and gave us good tips on breakfast, unfortunately only on our last day.

Our room was located on the third floor and the stairs are tricky. We didn't have hot water and had to move to another empty room with hot water to have a shower.

When we arrived, there was no one to welcome us, just the lady who works in cleaning and who only spoke Arabic, also when I left and when there was another guest making noise at 3 am without letting us sleep, there was also no one to help us with the situation. Very cold rooms, no hospitality or facilities for guests, not even suggestions and tips, shower with cold water and above all a very expensive price for the condition of the stay, there are cheaper and much better hostels for affordable prices. I felt completely disrespected as a customer, it was the worst stay I've ever had.

Although it can be difficult to find as there are no directions or signs, the hostel is located within the medina, not far from the main streets.

Unfortunately when we arrived there were extensive building works still being carried out, including hammering and other general construction. The owner apologized and said that works were behind schedule, which we accepted. However it was neither a social nor restful space and after one day, we decided to leave. We could see the potential and would return in the future once the work has been completed.

I was looking forward to our stay in the youth hostel and social space. We were greeted by very friendly and accommodating staff. Our room was cozy and full of character. The building has great potential to be a good social space.
