Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Ali the host is a remarkable man doing something remarkable by restoring this piece of history. Nothing is too much trouble. He is such a kind and generous man and our stay at his place will remain with us for many years to come. This is an experience and one not to be missed and i cannot recommend it enough. 10/10

SpainThis was the best part of our trip. And it’s all thanks to the owner and manager Ali. Lodgment is rustic and charming, photos are true to reality: what you see is what you get. But what really made this an unforgettable experience was Ali’s honest, welcoming and kind nature. He taught us how to properly cook tajine and couscous and took us on some walking tours explaining the region’s history and cultural highlights. It was without a doubt the most enriching experience of our whole trip. We were very sad to leave, but we’ll surely come back to visit Ali and his wonderful community as soon as we can, we already miss them so much!

United KingdomDo not come here expecting luxury. This place was really interesting and the host kind and friendly. A tour of the ruins is essential and I was glad to support what Ali is doing here and to share in his knowledge of the site and the local area. The beds were comfortable enough and the food was fine. I would stay here again and bring others as it was an experience.

No luxury but authenticity! Ali receives you in his self-renovated kasbah with a lot of warmth and looks after you like a true friend. Basic but very clean rooms, delicious food (dinner and breakfast) and an interesting tour of his garden where you learn more about how the people there live and work together, nature, culture ... anything you want to ask. We stayed here on our way from Fes to Merzouga, this stop was more than worth it. If you come, please try to bring some clothes, shoes etc that can no longer serve you. Here, people are more than happy with them!

United StatesAli proved to be an exceptional host, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness during our brief stay. From providing thoughtful gifts upon arrival to insisting on preparing breakfast for our early departure, his hospitality knew no bounds. The scenic beauty of the surrounding gorge only enhanced our experience, providing a stunning backdrop for our evening. Dinner was both delicious and reasonably priced, rounding off our Moroccan adventure perfectly. We highly recommend booking a stay at Ali's Casbah for an unforgettable experience.

United KingdomAbsolutely beautiful and atmospheric kasbah with authentic feel. Room was relatively basic but still cozy and very comfortable. The welcome from Ali was exceptional. He took the time to explain to us the history of the kasbah and welcomed us to his family. Food was also exceptional! There's also a nice walk into the valley which is stunning and peaceful. Cannot recommend this enough.

CanadaNot that we didn’t like it, but it is definitely a more rustic experience. You are staying in what I would describe as a renovated ruin that you see all over the south in the towns of Morocco. It’s charming and comfortable, and you get to experience a different way of living.
Ali the owner was very accommodating a friendly. One man show as inn host, chef and all.

PolandI was in Kasbah in January, its a beautiful 200-year-old building. which is run by a sociable and polite owner. This is the best place to stop on the way between Fez and the Sahara. We were only there for one night, but when I come back to Morocco, I will come back for a longer time, because there are a lot of interesting attractions around this place. Michael

NetherlandsThe stay at this kasbah was the highlight of our roadtrip - Ali was the most welcoming host who told us about the history of this architectural complex, the culture of berbers and the village. He initiated kasbah's restoration project by himself and it's still ongoing - you can see how much history and traditions are rooted in this place. Would definitely come here back for more, like the tour in the mountains with the local berber community.

United StatesKasbah Gite D’etape Gorges De Ziz is located in Achbaro. Achbaro a tiny village, 5 hours south of Fes. It is a great place to overnight to break the long trip from the Sahara Desert to Fes or Meknes. Ali, the owner and manager of the kasbah, cooked us a very tasty chicken & vegetables tajine for dinner. After an excellent breakfast, Ali sent us on our way with a bag full of delicious dates from the local palmeraie.

PortugalI went in summer, so it is very hot and the place still doesn't have the structure to have fans or air-con. There will be soon, he is working on it, but still not here for this summer (2023), so I recommend going on a colder time.
This is a Kasbah that is being restored and also had government aid for it. It is being done in the traditional way and it is very beautiful and interesting. The host gives you tours in the property and also cooking classes. The price is higher than the whole area, but if you consider the experience it was a good price. What you learn there is priceless. In addition to the history and cooking class, the beauty of the old building, the place has a lot of quirky ideas around it.

It's rustic, limited but adequate electricity. Owner took me down to see the local farm plots, irrigation and the stream. It seems the rest of the casbah may eventually be restored.
