Luxury Riad Mounia was such a cute and adorable hotel! Location, location, location! We were not too far from the main entrance of the Madina, in the middle of the more modern and cultural show, footsteps fro where the traditional shops are for groceries and household items. Restaurants everywhere! You are actually attached to part if a fort that is running along the sea that you can walk to from the hotel in 10 minutes, and fisherman’s port and market. Mosques are everywhere so be prepared to me memorized and emotionally moved by the call to prayer all 5 times of the day… so beautiful! Chaima and Siham were the administrative staff, and a gentleman in the evening that we forgot his name. Amazing people, always available for questions and service. All the rooms are so cute!! Just reserve the room size for the number of people you are. The larger rooms simply have more beds on them because these riad properties are traditionally homes many many years ago. These are not 5 star hotels, but you must look passed that because they are clean and you have what you need. The beds are quite comfortable, plenty of storage space, towels, toiletries all included. If you need other items, just around the corner of the hotel are a few variety stores and pharmacies… also the wifi was very good!!! All the store owners around the hotel become familiar with you and you find you are in a very safe city! We highly recommend this location and we will miss our new friends in the Medina!!!

The wifi was unstable in the rooms but worked well in the common areas and the terrace, that's an area of improvement. As in most riads in Morocco, you'll be climbing a lot of stairs so definitely something to keep in mind but not a major issue.

The hospitality and care of the staff members was stellar. I trusted them with recommendations and guidance during my time in Essaouira, and always felt welcomed. They helped me book a visit to the hammam and even offered me a room in the lower floor (my original booking was way on the top floor). Breakfast was lovely and the staff asked about my preferences so I got to try different types of bread, omelettes, and beverages every so often. The location is fantastic, near beautiful sights and landmarks. I'd definitely stay here again!

The showers had a little bit of old smell but when used it was good. No AC meaning a bit uncomfortable in summer but not that much.

Exellent location for festivals, we were there for gnaoua. Staff is amazing and beyond welcoming . The common areas are beautifully decorated and authentic. The rooms are too, and special guest fruits and sweets were offered to us. Very nice touch. The bedroom for three is so spacious and comfortable. We were a group of 9 people and none had any disappointments. Sheets are changed everyday. Their upstairs terasse is outstanding.

We stayed for two nights and breakfast were the same for both mornings. No parking near hotel, you need to leave your car ~5-7 minutes away.

Very cozy hotel for a good price in Medina. The sea, city walls, and all restaurants are nearby the hotel. The staff was very friendly.

I booked a small room to start with and then a larger room for the second part of my stay, mostly because it had a bath. However, on arrival to the second room, there was no bathplug in the room and the staff couldn't find one, so a bath did not happen. This was a bit annoying as I paid extra for that particular room mostly for this. I did, however, learn that they had just had their worst drought in 40 years so it's forgivable. The main light in the second room didn't work.

Riad is charming. The staff were so kind and lovely, they were particularly helpful. The beds were super comfy and the room decor was beautiful. I was very grateful for the fruit and fresh bottles of water.
