Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was all perfectly ok. Unfortunately we booked literally 10 minutes before arriving around 7pm, therefore it was not possible to have dinner there. But the restaurant nearby was excellent and good value for money.

United KingdomThe location was great, 3 minutes away from the gorge and close to all other hotels and restaurants in Todra. The room was of a good size, the beds were comfortable and the the food was yummy; but most importantly, Abdul and Suad were amazing hosts, and we can’t recommend them enough!

GermanyWe decided to go for their dinner menu and it was a bit disappointing. It was more than double the price of what we usually paid in Morocco and by far the most expensive meal. Portion wise for 2 people is was the size of a regular meal for 1 person in different places. They even charged us extra the tea we ordered on top of the food being 240 dirham.
Beautiful surroundings and very nice host

United StatesEverything was great. The only difficulty was the local village children who were very persistent in asking us for dirhams or for food. While it can feel like the right thing to give them your pocket money, we were advised not to do this, as parents will then sometimes pull kids out of school and have them ask tourists for money all day. It was emotionally difficult to say no, but donate money to a local school or NGO instead. Be prepared for children to approach you when you arrive.
Great location, walking distance to gorge. Abdul was so kind and gave us great suggestions for family activities (hikes, exploring the palmerie and more)! Food was also very delicious, I highly recommend dinner here!

SpainBeautiful little Guesthouse overlooking the green gardens and the mountains. Located 10 min walk from the Gorge entrance in the Little village. They have a cosy, heated dinning room where they serve delicious tagine or couscous. For the warmer days they have as well a nice rood top terrace. The place is clean and Abdul will always have a nice chat with you. Family like atmosphere.

GermanyI felt like being the part of the family. The food was home made, when it was ready they just called up: Zsofiiiiaaaa thee fooood is reeeaaady! Exactly like at home 🤩 The food was delicious, you could taste, that is was made with a lot of love! 🥰 The children have been running up and down the stairs like me and my brother did when we were jung and they were really curious who is there. 😊 They were very sweet. Abduls nephew showed me the mountains and we had a really nice day hiking. I'm very grateful for the whole experience. 😊🙏

United KingdomRooms were slightly on the small side with the bathroom in the room, and the air conditioning didn’t work so fans were made do. Other than that we had a lovely stay and thank you.
Incredible hospitality and attention to detail. We were provided with a lovely breakfast and evening meal. The terrace is great with a lovely view, very close to the gorge walk too.

New ZealandOur bed was very hard, but that is a theme we found in Morocco.
You will not get a warmer welcome than here in Morocco. By staying at Maison d’Hôte Valentine you are contributing directly to the livelihood of a Berber family (this is a relatively poor region), and in turn you are staying in a very unique environment where the 10 minute meander into the Todra Gorge is so easy to do. You will receive the best evening meal you will get in your entire stay in Morocco - the food is prepared by the owner’s wife, and it is second to one. The arrival to the property is unpaved and is ‘real Morocco’. If you have a wish to buy carpet the the owner’s sister has a business just around the corner that he will take you to.

AustriaThis cozy “maison” has clean and functional rooms and a nice room to eat dinner and breakfast. The owner was very welcoming, even when we arrived an hour before check-in time. We loved our room, from which we could see and hear the river. Dinner was really good – a delicious salad, chicken tagine, and extra special dessert (not just a bowl of fruit). The house is a well-marked short walk from the main road and the small parking lot on the main road is also well marked. The location is perfect for people visiting the gorge. We walked down twice since it was so nearby.

Abdul and his family looked after us so well, we were welcomed with tea on the terrace, in the morning had a tasty breakfast and they provide home cooked evening meals upon request. The rooftop terrace has wonderful views and our room had the same view of the mountains, river and palmerie. We also loved being in the village of Tizgui itself, a Berber village relatively untouched by tourism with Berber women tending animals in small pens around the village wearing traditional dress, maze like alleyways around and under buildings, ancient pathways through the little fields of the palmerie and to the west of the village the ancient Ksaur (kasber) where Berber families still live. A 3-5 hour walk from the village takes you into the mountains behind the gorge where you pass normadic Berber families. Abdul grew up in the ancient village kasber and his mother before him grew up a normadic Berber. Staying at Hotel Valentine was a wonderful experience of the real Morocco and seeing first hand an ancient and fading way of life.

United KingdomWonderful location at the top end of the gorge but also quiet, with just the croaking of frogs, amazing birdsong and the lovely gurgling of the river below. From the stunning roof terrace you can admire green fields in the valley that are a colourful contrast to the stunning rock walls and strata all around. Our host Abdul was a wonderful man - always helpful, attentive and on hand to guide you ... we even bought a lovely rug made at his sister's co-op fom him!
