Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GibraltarDoors and walls were very thin so you could hear absolutely everything going on in the stairwell and next door. I took earplugs which helped with morning prayer call and the noise out side. But that is expected anywhere in the medina. Not a criticism, but a suggestion, I think the owners could put a couple of things to make the room to make it better like hooks or shelves under the telly for your bag, phone and jacket, also I was lacking a long mirror. Rooms are very small only one bedside table, that’s why I felt it lacked places to put your every day items. But these are minor things.
Location was fab, very clean, staff were super nice and very comfortable beds. Nice terrace to chill and watch medina life. Next to a hotel with amazing hamman, Resturant and bar.

CroatiaThere is a shower and si k in the room, while the toilet is in the corridor, so you should keep that in mind. But there is a toilet on each floor, they are clean, there are 2-3 rooms on each floor, so there is no problem with occupancy, and the price is more than reasonable
Very helpful staff, resolved the issue of tranportation, hotel in the center of the part of the city, right next to the hotel a large number of shops and restorants

SwedenElectric outlet socket was hanging a little loose on the wall under the window between the beds, needs to be fixed back into the wall.
I liked that there are two warm bed fleece blankets in the wardrobe, they helped me keep me warm at night.

United KingdomTaxis do not go into the medina so there is a short uphill walk to the hotel. This is the same for all the old town hotels and pensions. That said, it is easy to find as it is near the main mosque and the petit soco. The Booking.com photo is accurate but it does include the entrance to the 3star palace hotel next door.
Inexpensive, safe and clean hotel with nearby cafes and restaurants. (Cafe ahlen is especially good.) Some aspects of the hotel were basic: no breakfast, no washbasin in shared toilets) but EXCELLENT VALUE. Wifi available and tv in room. Staff is welcoming and friendly, and the people on reception spoke several languages and were very helpful. Great situation for exploring the old town, port and several tourist attractions. There are stairs to access the reception but the hotel was able, on request, to give me a first floor room. Very swift response time.

PolandThe hotel is located close to the Grand Mosque so you will be woken up every day by calls for prayers. The door in the bathroom of our room didn’t fully close.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, they helped us print our boarding passes. The location is excellent, right in the middle of medina. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The terrace is perfect for chilling in the evening.

United StatesNo complaints except that the Internet was sometimes spotty.
Convenient location just off the Socco Chico. Friendly, English-speaking staff. Though a bit small, the rooms were kept up well and most had windows with good views, as well as sunny terraces and several bathrooms on each floor. Most rooms also included attached showers.

NorwayThere was a totally ruined table on the private terrace outside my room. Can’t imagine why it’s there, just taking down what would otherwise be an impeccable experience of the accommodation.
I liked location a lot. It’s in the the part of the old medina that’s closest to the sea and there are narrow streets with a lot of shops winding it’s way down to the seafront. There’s a small plaza outside with a perfect coffee shop for “people watching” and 10 meters past the coffee shop you find one of the best street food vendors in Morocco. I also liked the cozy terrace on the third floor (with a glimpse of the ocean). I had room at the top floor and was not bothered by any noise (but in an old medina there is always a mosque nearby). Could be different on the lover levels since it’s a busy neighbourhood…
