Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThe bed was hard and the room was tiny. The elevator was so small it was hard to fit us and our giant suitecases in with us.
Very nice hotel, similar to a Best Western in Canada (but on a smaller slightly fancier scale). Very good WiFi, hot water and a elevator. Many places to eat and shop near by.

Oh the luxury! We arrived well before check-in, no thanks to the efficient Moroccan trains, yet the kind staff quickly got our room in order so we could check-in. I have never had that experience. Not to mention how terrific the room was. We felt like kings.

United Kingdom- This is a newish hotel and the hard product (ie the bedroom) is not without teething issues, for example, no hot water in the shower, one of the sliding doors to the balcony would not lock, TV would not tune to any channels, bathroom door would only open 45 degrees, when 'do not disturb' sign was put onto outside bedroom door handle it was not possible to close the door. - When I booked the hotel I made a request to have a top floor if possible, I received a message saying subject to availability they will try to accommodate this request. On the day of check in I got to my bedroom and find out I'm on... the bottom floor! The above relates to bedroom 13. All possible to fix with a little effort. I did not report at time as I was there for one night and they would not be able to action the above extensive list in that time.
