Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The interior was very nice and well cleaned, not a speck of dust. There were two cats kept in the riad, very cute and happy!

United StatesIn the heart of the Marrakesh medina, behind a nondescript entranceway, lies an oasis of comfort far from the maddening crowds and tumult of the medina. Friendly staff are always available, breakfasts are just the right to start the day's excursions on a happy belly, rooms are comfy, there is a soaking pool on a rooftop terrace, and only minutes to several highlights of the medina.

We had a wonderful stay here, the rooftop pool and sun lounging area is gorgeous and we had it to ourselves every day. Breakfast was lovely and the manager Abdou was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Located right near Ben Youssef meant it was easy to find our way back to the Riad without getting lost!

We were welcomed into the Riad by our wonderful hosts. Our room was excellent comfortable with all the amenities we needed. We used the roof top pool which was lovely the roof terrace has sunbeds towels and sun hats for guests to use. Our hosts were informative and helped organise our weekend. We loved Marrakech and will definitely return to Les Hirondelles.

You could decide that it’s the central location that makes this place exceptional. Or maybe its elegant design. Or its quiet and comfortable rooms.. Or the stunning mountain views from its beautiful rooftop terrace. Or the gorgeous breakfasts served each morning in its lush courtyard. And you would be right. But what really makes this an unbeatable home from home is Marie (the owner), Abtou, (the manager), Mohsin (the night manager) and all the staff whose genuine warmth and incredible hospitality take this Riad from really great to truly outstanding.

GermanyIt is not the cheapest Riad to book and the rooms are difficult if couples desire privacy in the bathroom.
The by far best thing about this Riad is the Hosts. We felt comfortable and attended to. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. The heating works well and the rooftop is pretty and comfortable. We also had a nice dinner and communication was uncomplicated, incredibly friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe only issue we had was that one of the sinks was not draining but we didn't even mention it to the management. We were very happy to use the second sink in the bathroom.
My family of four stayed at Riad Les Hirondelles Boutique Hotel for two nights. Since the initial booking, communication was excellent. Marie is just wonderful - helpful and responsive. The riad exceeded expectations. We loved the quiet courtyard, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or just read, listening to the chirping of the birds. The dining area is spacious and we never felt like there was no space. While the riad was fully booked, we didn't feel there were other people. Very nice and quiet. No noise during the day or at night, from other guests or the street. Abdou was very helpful and was always available to answer our questions and help. Breakfast is delicious. Loved the omelet with veggies in the morning. The location is fantastic. Now that I have been to Marrakech, I would not want to stay too close to the main square. The location was safe and the street well lit.

United KingdomA very small point, but better towel rails so our towels dried more quickly. Otherwise everything worked exceptionally well.
We felt welcomed and well looked after throughout our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly without being pushy and any requests were answered promptly. They were also helpful in making suggestions about how to get to where we needed to go. We had a good breakfast each day which set us up well for a good day's sightseeing! The hotel itself was remarkably quiet, given that we were in the medina, the only disturbance really being the amplified muezzin which you would hear anywhere in town. The location was excellent, very close to the Medersa Ben Youssef. The photos are of the Medersa Ben Youssef, and the view from the terrace of the Atay Cafe, so very similar to the terrace views at the riad.

The staff - meeting Moisin and Abdou was the highlight of our trip. The atmosphere - it’s warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated and feels like a home away from home. The location - quiet but central and easy spot right in the middle of the medina. And the cats! They are so cute and cuddly and made the riad even more special. The rooftop is pretty great too.

Staff was absolutely amazing!!! Very welcoming upon arrival. If you book transfer from airport, they will coordinate transfer and meet you at drop off location to walk you to the door (as it is in pedestrian zone). They walk through the map of Marrakech and take the time to give you tips/trips. Mousseim and Abdul were amazing!! Mousseim even spent multiple hours taking us to purchase good quality Argan oil and Morrocan carpets like a local. Highly recommend!!
