Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceOur room was at the top of the building, several flights of narrow stairs.. just about ok for us in our mid-70’s, but a warning would be helpful. The bedroom was a little tired: all four walls are red ( some paint peeling ), so a little oppressive. Shower hose rusty & wobbly loo ( was immediately fixed when it leaked) Location wise - very quiet but felt a bit isolated & closed in by the very high walls of the surrounding buildings.
The scale of the old Riad … the ground floor was immense & very decorative.. the staff were charming & very helpful. Very clean; comfortable beds; excellent breakfast; great views from the top terrace. Excellent evening meals.

United StatesGreat location and value. The staff were wonderful! We arrived late in the evening and someone met us at the edge of the Medina and escorted us to the Riad. Additionally, they made arrangements for a private city tour. The breakfast was wonderful and they accommodated for my daughter’s dietary needs. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

United KingdomOur shower didn't work properly. You need to be aware of the narrow staircase.
The manager came and met us from the car, we would never have found the Riad without him. They were really helpful with sorting out tour guides, which was really useful for us.

AustraliaThe only criticism is that the sheets were too small for the bed and kept coming off during the night (I am a tall person)
A beautiful Riad full of history. This is a must for people wanting to experience a stay with a difference. The interior of the building with the multiple storeys and the inner courtyard were the highlight of the stay. The room was very comfortable just off the terrace on the roof with a magnificent view of Fes. Staff were amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was great.

CanadaWe were first-timers in Morocco, and traveling as a mixed group of children, adults and seniors, and were very pleased that Said could organise the tours we wanted to do through the riad. The tours themselves were all really great and well organised - the only real complaint I might have, is that some of the 'special places' we went with our guide, where we were assured we would not be harassed by sellers, were very touristy and bordering on in-authentic. I imagine there are visitors who enjoy a more sanitised version of the local culture/environment, but we would have enjoyed a bit more of the hustle and bustle of more local vendors I think. On the other hand, it was very hot weather and most, if not all, of the tourist places were air-conditioned, so that was appreciated.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating, it almost felt like we were visiting with extended family! The staff were professional, well-informed, kind, considerate and several of them spoke 3 or more languages, making our party of French and English speakers feel very comfortable. We had arranged to be met at the airport and poor Said had to wait an extra 2hrs for our late flight to arrive, yet remained friendly and in good humour none the less! Fatima - the cook - is a genius in the kitchen (we never even ate dinner at another place as the food was so good at 'home') and Said and Rashiid were always available and willing to help out if needed; we felt utterly spoiled. When we visited, it was quite hot and our riad, despite having no air-conditioning in the dining/seating areas, felt like a little oasis. The upstairs deck has a killer view and evening breeze to cool down with, and all the rooms have air-conditioning, so we were very comfortable. My only regret, is that there is no water source to dip your feet or take a plunge in, after a hot and dusty day - that would have been heavenly!

PortugalThere was nothing not to like.
The property is a traditional Riad, beautifully restored and decorated. Mohammed and all the staff were all very welcoming and treated us with great kindness and generosity. Mohammed arranged an excellent guide to take us around Fez. I highly recommend that this is an option to take. Our room was was very comfortable and clean. We had lovely simple breakfasts each morning and chose to have one dinner in the Raid. My husband had the lamb tagine and I choose the Chicken, lemon and olive tagine, both meals were very tasty. Rashid was very helpful and made us feel very welcome.

United StatesRiad Latchina in Fes, Morocco is a stunning riad with exceptional service provided by staff, Said Hassim and Fathima. They went out of their way to ensure that we felt welcome and comfortable, offering great recommendations for things to see and do in Fes. Although we did not take a guided tour, they were very helpful in providing us with maps and directions to ensure we knew where to go and what to see. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the rooftop terrace offers stunning views of the city. If you're looking for an authentic Moroccan experience in a tranquil setting, Riad Latchina is the place to stay.
