Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. United KingdomAbsolutely stunning riad, the owners have built this property with great attention to detail and leaving much of the authentic original design. A beautiful property with all the main amenities needed for a short trip. It is a small very clean oasis hidden away in the hustle and bustle of the busy streets. We received a lovely welcome which included a mint tea, confectionery’s and fruits. This was a special 30th anniversary trip and it was lovely to receive in our room a drink and treats. Emanuele and Lililya are very welcoming and kind and put in a lot of effort to make the stay so special. Emanuele took a lot of time to explain and give detail about the property and to help with any questions. Breakfast was delicious and a lot of choice with different daily authentic dishes, including good vegetarian choice. We also enjoyed a beautiful evening Moroccan meal, it was a lovely meal with a lot of choice. Would highly recommend this Riad and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomMy husband and I had the most amazing stay at Maipa Boutique Riad! We really could not recommend it more highly. The owner, Emanuele and his wonderful wife have created the most beautiful environment and every aspect of the stay was perfect. The Riad is gorgeous, full of artisan design that Emanuele took the time to explain to us. You can feel the passion and care that he and all who work at the Riad have poured into making it such a special place to stay. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the warm welcome of fresh tea and Moroccan delicacies, to the beautiful toiletries in the rooms, to the exceptional food. Breakfast was sublime - one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. We also ate the Moroccan 3 course meal at the Riad one night which was a highlight; fantastic food prepared with love! The room had everything we needed and more, with a comfortable bed, air conditioning and amazing bath and shower - and it was amazingly quiet despite the hustle and bustle of the Medina outside. We felt very spoiled staying at Maipa and would urge anyone booking a trip to Marrakech to stay here!

United StatesThe property is a beautifully restored, traditional riad with amazing tile and carved design features. The owners are incredibly gracious and kind. He is an excellent chef, so breakfast was amazing, and the coffee was the best we tasted in Morocco. Book a dinner with the owner if you can- it was the best meal we’ve ever had and such a romantic setting. Also, the rooftop is a beautiful lounge area. We got street food from the vendors nearby and brought it back to the riad to eat on the roof with a panoramic sunset view.

United StatesThe only thing that bothered me slightly was that there was only a curtain (thick one, but still) separating the bathroom from the room. I'm not sure if all the rooms are like this. I think the positives still outweigh this.
Emanuele and the staff were fantastic. The riad was beautiful inside with gorgeous brick, tiles, carved wood, detailed ceilings, and colors galore!! It gave me everything I wanted. There was a lovely breakfast included with a bread basket (nice assortment!), fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh juices, tea or coffee, and a different egg dish each day. The riad was located right off the main marketplace. EXCELLENT LOCATION. I loved it.

GermanyWe should have stayed longer.
Emanuele and Yassine made our stay one to remember. This Riad is absolutely stunning and perfectly combines luxury with old tradition. Instantly you can see how much work, love and detail they put into making the place the Riad it is now. My wife and I came there to celebrate our anniversary and Emanuele made sure we leave Marrakech in awe with all the wonders of Morroco. The room was superb, the beds extremely comfy, the served breakfast was outstanding. The two dinners we had there (we booked twice because the first one was already amazing) were delicious and delightful. We felt so welcome at all times and taken care of. On our anniversary day we even got a special treat - just popping up in our room. Emanuele recommended so many good things. On a very short notice he organised a second desert trip that blew our minds. Every time we got back to the beautiful Riad we felt immediately at home - thanks to Emanuele and Yassine. We were chatting a lot and had a blast. I definitely recommend this hotel and we're happy to come back anytime.

United KingdomMy only comment would be that we stayed in room Lavendar on the ground floor next to main gardens - when you have curtains open people can see into the room so best to stay on higher floor for more privacy and for more quiet during the night. Other than that everything was perfect.
Beautiful Riad in the heart of the medina, close by to everything. Lovely interior, the renovation has been so thoughtfully done. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and they gave helpful advice for exploring the area. Lovely rooftop with deck chairs and small massage pool to wind down too.

United KingdomNothing we didn’t like, the stay was perfect and I can’t think of a way that it could be improved.
Our stay at the Maipa boutique raid was amazing, the property is stunning, the location is perfect in a quiet and safe area only a short walk from the hustle and bustle. Emanuele was truely exceptional, from organising our collection from the airport to the riad, the warm welcome, advice for activities in the area to the delicious meals he made for us. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to truely welcome in the property. The rooftop is a lovely place to relax with the added bonus of the hot tub. Breakfast every day was amazing with a different dish to accompany the breads, yoghurt cheeses and juices, all freshly prepared using local produce. The evening meals Emanuele prepared were top class with exceptional attention to detail creating delicious and memorable dining experiences. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with authentic local style and finishing touches. Thoroughly recommend a stay here, everything about it is excellent!

United KingdomHard to fault really. Everything was perfect. One thing I would recommend is for there to be a mirror in the main bedroom to help when getting ready.
Beautifully decorated Riad. You can see the passion of the owners with the care and attention to the way the Riad has been done up and managed. Location is perfect. Breakfast was very good. I just can’t fault this place. The owner was just such a lovely man. Helpful, polite, respectful and very welcoming.

SwitzerlandNothing - everything was fantastic, the facilities, location, staff, hospitality, food.
I have never felt more at home in a holiday accommodation. The riad is marvelous: the spacious bedrooms, the sunny rooftop terrace, the shared spaces - everything is well-curated. It was recently renovated respecting Moroccan architecture, materials and colors. The location is perfect, in the middle of the buzzling Medina, yet the riad remains extremely quiet: it’s an oasis of relax in the chaotic streets of Marrakech. It also helps that there are only few rooms in the riad: it’s quiet and guests are carefully looked after. The staff is great, Emanuele is a fantastic host, he cares deeply about his guests and will make you feel at home. He’s also a great chef: breakfast was delicious, with a choice of eggs, homemade yoghurt and bread, Moroccan crepes and pastries, a selection of cheese, jams, fruits and much more. The Moroccan dinner is a must: it was the best dinner I had in Marrakech. He helped me with excursions, SPA and restaurant bookings, shopping tips, making my holiday very easy. I will for sure go back!

Our stay at Maïpa Boutique Riad was a memorable one. The riad is beautiful & the service was simply fantastic Emanuele was truly an amazing host. He welcomed us with mint tea and Moroccan sweets, gave us a tour of the riad while our bags were sent to our room. The riad is beautiful & despite being in a busy section of the medina, it was surprisingly very quiet. The breakfast was phenomenal: a cheese platter, a basket of bread & patisserie, a fruit platter, a selection of various spreads (fig jams, honey & Moroccan Amlou), 2 fresh juices, tea or coffee & the plat du jour: eggs made differently every morning. Their cucumber & lemon juice was refreshing. The breakfast was both delicious & decadent. Emanuele briefed us about every breakfast item while serving us with a smile. The room was spacious & tastefully decorated The washroom was spacious & beautiful This was simply the best Riad we stayed in our 2 weeks holiday in Morocco (7 cities & a couple of riads) A big thank you to Liliya & Emanuele for their amazing hospitality

GermanyScared to say how amazing this place is in case its not available next time we visit! Beautiful renovated riad in the centre of the medina. Emanuele and Liliya's passion for hospitality is unbelievable. Fantastic, friendly hosts that will provide all the local information you need. The food is fantastic and the rooms are beautiful. It was my wife's brithday and they left a small cake and some sweet treats in our room. The mint tea and sweets on arrival were delicious too. Be sure to book dinner here. It was a whole experience. Emanuele takes pride in explaining the provenance, flavours and cooking process of each dish. The transfer from the airport is also worth it as the hosts will guide you through the medina to the riad. Absolutely loved every minute of our stay here. A separate tip: Book dinner one evening in the Dar Es Salaam restaurant. Beautiful building with traditional music, dancing and a lot of fun.

The riad was an oasis of calm in the city. It was beautifully and sympathetically decorated having only been fully renovated last year. Each room and lounging area is thoughtfully put together. We arrived late and asked the riad to arrange our pick up. This was 35 euros. I would recommend this as they see you to the door, which would otherwise be tricky. Emanuel gave us such a warm welcome. The riad was lit with so many candles. We were given a lovely mint tea, dates and sweet treats while he checked us in. We had asked for a traditional dining experience which we would highly recommend. Beautiful food in the most romantic setting. Our whole stay was truly 5 star. The staff are so kind and helpful and the rooms are spectacular and immaculately clean. They even provide you with hand sewn leather slippers to bring home. The location is perfect for exploring the souks and is only 5 mins from the main square. You can also exchange your money here at a brilliant rate. Emanuel will explain where. This was such a special place to stay that I was tempted to keep it secret. We can’t wait to return!
