Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The reception was wonderful from Mohammed, the cheerful person. As for the riad, it is very beautiful and very traditional. We had a very large and clean room. Everything was excellent. I recommend it.

United StatesWe loved our stay in Meknes. It was our first time in a riad and we were delighted. The interior is very beautiful. We were there in the off season in February, so we were the only guests for our two night stay. There was great communication with our host on how to find the riad, for example, which gate to get a taxi to, which alleyway to walk down to find the accommodation, etc. The location is good. It is very close to Lahdim Square, Bab El Mansour Gate, and Dar Jami Museum. Unfortunately, during our stay Bab El Mansour and Lahdim Square were undergoing renovations, so we didn't get to have the full effect.

NetherlandsThis charming riad is located in the heart of the medina. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated, as is the rest of the riad. Despite the bustle of the medina, we found the riad to be surprisingly quiet (although you will, of course, still hear some noise from the busy city outside). Mohammad is a kind and generous host, being extremely accommodating with providing an early breakfast when needed, and giving suggestions for local restaurants in the area.

United StatesThese are things that I have found to be the case in other riads/accommodations in Morocco, so these aren't criticisms but observations to make note of so the traveler can have a better idea of what to expect and plan accordingly: the riad is set back from the main road, so be prepared to walk through the market with your luggage and find the riad. It's not difficult with this one, though. There are no elevators, only narrow stairs, so something to keep in mind if you have lots of luggage, or heavy luggage, or have difficulty with stairs. The mattresses are a bit hard. I have back problems, so they were a little difficult to sleep comfortably on. One more tip when traveling to Morocco that we learned from our daughter, who lives there, is that taxi drivers don't use addresses to find places but navigate by landmarks/known areas, so always ask the manager of a riad/hotel what to tell the taxi driver so he can get you there.
The customer service was very cordial and hospitable. It's a beautiful riad with traditional and very decorative furnishings. It is also within the medina (old city) so it's very close to many shops, cafes and restaurants. Our room was very spacious.

Our stay was fantastic! The riad is 600 years old, architecture and design are so authentic and take you to the journey through time. Our room was big with high ceiling and very comfortable. The hosts are so lovely people, it was a great pleasure to have conversations with them. Breakfast was traditional, good and tasty. If you are visiting Meknes, you should definitely stay in this riad as it’s not just a hotel but an extraordinary experience that will enrich you Moroccan trip.

NetherlandsBreakfast is mediocre. Bread and juice was not fresh, only jam served. Small coffee only, can get a second. For extra payment you can order cheese and fried egg. Not much to see in Meknes, much being renovated.
Beautiful riad in the middle of the souk. Beware that on Fridays the whole souk is closed, not much to do.

United StatesBreakfast is minimal with bread, olive, butter, jam, coffee and tea. Owner forgot to give me the password to the WIFI despite my repeated requests. My wife found the code on the notice behind the door. We liked to use the kitchen to prepare one lunch and one dinner during our 3 night stay. However, we were asked to pay 50 dirham for using the gas stove. Despite these issues, we had a good stay.
Excellent family resilience. very quiet and peaceful. Location is excellent. Owner upgraded our room from downstairs to upstairs.
