Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is my second stay at riad safa and it never disappoints. The staff are so friendly, warm and helpful, and they even bought me a cake for my birthday! They went over and above to ensure my partner and I had the most comfortable stay possible.

United KingdomNothing..the kids outside the alleyways get aggressive at begging sometimes..but you can just ignore them with good humour.
The riad itself is so beautiful! So peaceful and cool with the sound of bubbling water fountain provide perfect sanctuary from the heat and hectic actions on the roads and souks. Sitting in the patio with no one around with the smell of cooking from the kitchen..I feel like I m at home.. I had my evening meals at the riad and they were absolutely delicious. I discussed with the manager what kind of food I would like to eat for the evening and something delicious will appear at my table. Marvelous! I only had to walk 5seconds from my room to the dining table!

The Riad Safa was the ideal choice for our family stay in Marrakech. Great location, the Riad is charming, the rooms are great and clean, the staff super friendly (the manager Abdel was incredible and helped us a lot with his suggestions and advice, as well as booking the transfer to and from the airport), the breakfasts are delicious and we had a marvellous dinner the day we arrived. The massages and the hamman are top! I highly recommend this wonderfull place in the enchanted city of Marrakesh.

The riad was such a calm and peaceful haven in the middle of the crazy medina. The white walls were clean and the design was beautiful. The cleaners and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Especially the manager, Abdel, who welcomed us and gave us an overview of the city and where to go. He also organised a birthday cake for me as a surprise, which was so thoughtful and kind.

Beautifully decorated, calm riad close to all the Souks and main square but a quiet oasis away from it all. Amazing terrace with loungers and plunge pool which we had all to ourselves. Very helpful and friendly staff

Really nice Riad. Inside of the old Medina, close to everything you are going to need in Marrakech. The facilities are basic but absolutely fine. The place really gives you a calm and relaxing mood. All of the staff, and especially Mohammed, are amazing and very helpful

United KingdomThe doors to the rooms are single glazed windows with wood frames - beautiful, but not the best for sound or light insulation. While the Riad itself is quite quiet, any noise that did happen (e.g. other guests chatting, an orange dropping from the beautiful orange tree) can be heard in the room, and the curtains didn't block out the lights in the communal areas. We did still get plenty of sleep, and didn't actually get woken by the morning call to prayer from the mosque that so many other reviews mention! Additionally the shower didn't have enough hot water for two consecutive showers, so we had to plan around this a little!
We LOVED our stay here. The breakfast was delightful, and the staff were so lovely. The Riad itself is gorgeous, and the rooftop is beautiful. I also cannot overstate how good the orange blossom made the whole courtyard smell. The Riad is in walking distance to pretty much everything you'd want to do in Marrakech, (5-10 minutes to the souks, 10 minutes to jemaa al fnaa, 30 minutes to the jardin majorelle), making it a great base for a busy holiday. There are lovely restaurants really nearby (5-15 min walk), we really enjoyed la slimana which seemed to be a relatively new addition very near the Riad, and also loved Bigua which is pretty close by too! Inside, the riad gives you a quiet tranquil space to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina, it's great! When we arrived, Abdel collected us from the taxi drop off, welcomed us with some mint tea and gave us some key information and a map, which was so helpful! His advice to navigate using landmarks (like the floral mural near the Riad) was brilliant and we used that advice for our whole trip. He also arranged our car back to the airport and walked us to the car pick up, all in all, really wonderful service with a lovely personal touch.

Beautifully decorated, clean and very comfortable Riad within walking distance of all the main sites. Mohammed and all the staff made us very welcome. Tea on arrival and a fantastic breakfast. An oasis in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The roof terrace was a great place to unwind at the end of a busy day. Loved the Moroccan Riad experience.

The property was absolutely gorgeous and so well maintained. It offered so many amenities that you could spend the full day there as a relaxing break from the busy city. The staff is incredible, from the breakfast to offering suggestions on where to visit, we were so pleased during our stay. Given this was our honeymoon, the staff even surprised us with a bottle of wine for the celebration. We couldn’t say enough good things about our stay including the location, cleanliness, amenities, uniqueness of the riad, etc., we want to revisit to return to the Riad Safa!

IrelandAn oasis of calm in the Medina! Thank you to Abdel and his staff for all their kindness. Breakfast in the salon was an absolute pleasure.. fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, crepes, coffee/tea. Everything is possible here & nothing is a problem. Even after a long day getting lost in the Souks the owner went to collect some pizza for us & brought it to our room with a beautiful glass of Moroccan wine! The policy here seems to be " If the guest is happy they are happy" I would highly recommend & will definitely return . 5* Riad Safa. Thank you to all.

United KingdomThe only thing that could have been slightly improved was the room temperature - overnight was cold in December and the air con didn't heat so well. But it wasn't a major problem at all and plenty of blankets etc!

FinlandFlip side of the location: The necessity of going through the small pathways to get to other places. The exhaust gases and smoke from food shops linger in the routes due to bad air circulation because of the infrastructure. I got a cough from all the smoke a the end of my stay.
Breakfast was good and universally suitable, served on the rooftop under open sky. The rooms and spaces were beautiful and well kept and cleaned every day. Authentic Moroccan dinner could also be ordered from the riad. The location was good for exploring the medina and access to taxi was right around the corner.

The Riad Safa was the perfect place for us to explore Marrakech from. From our arrival to our departure, nothing was too much for Abdel and his friendly team, from giving us a map with recommendations of places to explore and eat, dealing with a delayed arrival and giving us tips for exploring Marrakech, all was just perfect. The Riad was far enough away from the sounks to be peaceful, but close enough to make walking around the medina easy. The breakfast was small but perfect and the rooms were a good size and comfortable. The rooftop was perfect for an afternoon lounge in the December sun, it must be stunning in the hotter months as well.
