Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTHIS IS MOST IMPORTANT. THERE WERE INADEQUATE FIrE PRECAUTIONS. The only exit that we knew about was down a narrow staircase to the welcoming deck. There were no signs to indicate emergency exits. As the hotel repeatedly uses candles and open fires this is extremely dangerous. I suggest that each hotel room has a sign showing how to exit the hotel using alternative exits in the event of a fire The hotel would never have passed fire regulations in this country.
Unique ambiance, loved the decor and breakfast on the terrace.

United StatesEverything was excellent!
Fatima was our host for breakfast. She always had a special touched everything she did. The to location could not be better. Cost a little more than some of the other Riads in town, but well worth it and still not expensive by any standard in the west.

CanadaJust be wary of the seagulls as there are a lot of them by the port. They can make noise early morning but if your door is closed it will be quiet.
AN ABSOLUTE MUST STAY IN ESSOURIA! We arrived here and were very pleased by our greetings, the excellent location and the grandeur of the place. In all our travels this is near the top of our favorite places for the decorations and the stateliness of the place. The have a bar open from 3pm if you wish, a chess room (!), a fireplace room, multiple sitting rooms and reading room with selections of books as well as a huge roof top terrace with a great view of the fort and harbour and beach where breakfast is served. GOOD WIFI! Bed and bedding was great, towels were soft, supplied shampoo, body wash hair dryer and good shower! Get a covered place to sit so seagulls don't get you. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit juice, coffee, omelette or eggs to order, bread with butter, jams & marmalade, traditional crepes...all served by nice staff. We had to leave early to catch a plane and we told them and they got their staff to give us the same breakfast 45 minutes earlier. Very kind. Breakfast starts normally at 8:15. Check in was easy and they had an attendant bring our bags to the room. We tipped him. Villa Maroc location and roof deck is the best part of staying here. Easy parking nearby as there are large lots run by guys who charge you by night. Our vehicle was fine and it was parked overnight for two nights and days. It was a 200 metres walk to the front door of hotel from where we were parked - very easy. Simply walk through the front main gate arch and walk 50 metres and take a very immediate left after the wall. It is 20 metres down to the right and CLEARLY MARKED. Check out was easy. Again bags were brought to front desk by attendant. What was also very nice was the owner took the time to walk to each table at breakfast and chat with everyone. I thought this was very classy of her and was a great reflection for the overcall care she and all her staff had for her guests. Top marks for the added effort and professionalism.

United KingdomThe staff looked slightly confused (although generally helpful). The breakfast was disappointing - it consisted of a tiny pot of granola, orange juice and a few pieces of bread.
The location is superb and the overall quality of the property is excellent.

United KingdomIf you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs, while all part of the experience the sounds from the Medina don’t lend to a great nights sleep!
villa Maroc is exceptionally charming being just on the edge of the Medina and close to the beach. The staff are all exceptional without exception. We had a noise issue with our room and asked to be moved, which was no issue to them and arranged quickly which was fantastic.

CanadaLocated near Taros, the bar that played DJ beats from late afternoon to after 2 am every single night! I slept ok with my wax style earplugs but my husband did not. Hotel does their best to call every night to have them turn off the music but to no avail. We were gifted a jar of jam for our trouble which was thoughtful.
Lovely breakfast spread on rooftop, in particular their house orange jam was delicious, wait staff particularly attentive . Innumerable cozy and beautifully decorated sitting rooms throughout. Well curated boutique store. Location within the Medina is superb.
