Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe liked it a lot. Yussef, the driver, picked us up and we had a wild drive over the Dunes into the camp. The food was very delicious, Ismail, the cook, was great and we had nice lessons how to cook Tajine and a great time with him and Aziz. The Jeeptour the next day was interesting and Yussef did his best to fullfill all our wishes. He is a very experienced driver. Moreover, we enyojed the drums at the fireplace. We felt safe and comfortable all the time. Thanks to everybody.

NetherlandsWell-organised stay in the camp, big dinner, basic breakfast. The toilets could be cleaner but it's not a big problem especially in the middle of the desert.

United StatesThe communication on booking.com messenger about the price, etc. prior to the visit are a bit haphazard and it was unclear what's included and excluded and for how much. The morning trip back to the camp was a bit rushed -- we just got back from watching the sunrise and had to rush through our breakfast in order to catch the caravan back to Merzouga. Just a warning for the obvious, but often overlooked -- nature eventually decides what works and what doesn't.... unfortunately a mini sandstorm got in the way of our plan for star gazing at night, and there was no night entertainment/campfiire, and we ended up walking around by ourselves in rather cold wind in the dark -- it forced the gnawa musicians to perform indoor instead of outdoor, in the tent limited to those purchasing dinner package only. Our camp has no wifi and you need to "borrow" the Wifi from the camp next door! While we have maroc telecom data on our phones (which amazingly worked well in the desert), having a Wifi helped alleviate any network connectivity/performance issues. Ask in advance if your camp has Wifi. Coming in the PM and leaving the next AM may not be enough if you want to explore more (ATV, hiking further out, etc). Bring strong flashlights, don't rely only on your phones'. Camel ride: It could be choppy so holding your phone is a bit tricky. We secured our phones on selfie sticks so they can be better controlled with one or two hands while holding on to the handle for dear life, but after a while we got a hang of it. Camels are quite tall, 6 ft or so, so you could sustain injuries if you fell off your saddle.
The immensity and beauty of the Sahara overcome any issue that you may have at the camp. The camel rides to and from the pick up point in Merzouga (about 1 hr each way), the camel guides, the host are all great. The tent is unexpectedly huge (we have 3 or 4 beds for only 2 of us), and surprisingly the restroom facility, expectedly basic as it was (it's a mixed gender restroom), serves its purpose. When we were there, there was a mini sand storm coming in, so the wind howled through the night quite loudly (if you can't stand loud noise when sleeping, remember to pack some earplugs). The camel caravan was well-organized and they knew when we're coming and which camp we're going, etc. The sunrise camel ride was a once-in-a-lifetime unforgettable experience, but you really don't need to go on a camel ride. We just walked to the dunes (basically following the camels) and explored the dunes ourselves and was able to take beautiful photos and contemplate the experience.

ItalyThe experience itself is very much touristic. In the evening they offer you a traditional berber concert but it feels a bit fake. Everything is scheduled and organised and I didn't find much space for spontaneity. The bathroom were a bit smelly and there was no warm water, but it's reasonable since we're in the desert. Although the initial price seems very low, you've to pay to arrive to the camping (50€ with a 4x4 car). During the night there was a lot of wind, and the tents became very noisy since the external coverage was slamming all over the tent.
Dinner was fine, simple but good, as well as the breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable, with plugs to charge our phones. Overall, the camping was pretty clean. The hosts offered us tea and biscuits before dinner and they were very pleasant.

SpainAmazing hotel infront of the biggest dune in the Moroccan Sahara. The location was perfect and tranquil. Loved waking up to the view and watching the sunset and the moon rising. What an epic place seemed like a movie. Safe and very pleasant for a lone female traveller - staff were very welcoming and attentive. Traditional tagine was lovely and enjoyed the breakfast. Only had time for sunset camel trek but next time would aim to stay overnight in the bivouac camp. Was such a relief after the frenetic and chaotic pace of Fes to feel calm and to be treated so well. Would stay again in a heartbeat

The camp exceeded our expectations. Everything is fairytale like. First of all, the road from Merzouga to the camp was exciting and gave us a great adrenaline rush, going through the dunes with a 4X4. The hosts are awesome and very attentive. They were always making sure everything was on spot during our stay. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, over the top. Camel ride in the morning for sunrise was a once in a lifetime experience.
