How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I liked everything. I will come back here without any doubt.
The accommodation was just fantastic. It was just meters from the restaurants and the supermarket and most of the hiking trails in Durmitor are just some minutes away by car (or even walking). Very clean apartment with comfortable beds. The kitchen was very complete (it even included a minibar!) although we didn't use it. Clean, big and (almost) new bathroom. Free parking. The host (and his mother) were super nice. They helped us a lot not only with recommendations for hiking in the National Park but also in the next step of our trip

First of all, the owner is exceptionally nice and genuine, which makes you feel at home immediately. He had the fire going when we returned from the hike, prepared coffee, and gave good recommendations. The place is very cozy, good location, comfortable. 10/10

Our stay was great, Zodran is adorable and the house is very well equiped. Close to the city center/restaurants and the entrance of the park. We recommand !

We did not have any high expectations about the stay with the shared bathroom and kitchen, but it was really great. The house is not modern, but Zotan holds it with great care and attention for the guests, so we felt very comfortable there. It was very clean, cozy and Zotan’s attitude was very friendly.

There is nothing to complain about
Good location close to center of the village. The owner and his mother were really helpful and nice. Helped us to book taxi to Sedlo, helped out with laundry and offered nice coffee several times. Made us feel very welcome

Great place for a non-smoker as smoking is not allowed in bedrooms and kitchen/common rooms. It was easy to get to meet other travellers as they were renting out a few bedrooms. The people who are running the place are friendly, I especially appreciated the Turkish coffee in the morning. The place is clean. Good location in the centre of Zabljak.

Nothing special. Maybe a curtain that really blocks the sun in the bedroom will be nice and coild be easilly set.
The location is awesome. In the city center near everything. The landlord was nice and helpful. The bedroom and the shared bathroom were nice, clean and comfortable.

No downsides
Zoran and his mother are very nice people. I was invited fore homemade coffee and raki, while going through the activities at Durmitor and surroundings. Rooms are nice and comfy.

The apartment shared toilet and bathroom, the place is run by a man with his mum, they keep the place incredibly clean, kitchen well equipped and the owners have always been very accommodating and helpful, just ask. The owner can also give tips for trips in the national park and routes where to go. There is also free parking since you probably need a car to get around. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.

The older host here got irrationally upset and treated me very badly for having my male travel companion come by the house shortly so we could plan the rest of our travels, it was extremely odd and aggressive behavior. He also entered my room without knocking several times and when I confronted him he became very defensive and nasty. I would never stay here again and I recommend you don’t even though the reviews are good. I’m assuming the good reviews were written about the younger host
Really bad experience at this property as solo woman, I had heard nothing but nice things about the hosts. While the young host was lovely. The older host was aggressive, unstable if upset and made me feel uncomfortable and afraid during the duration of my stay
