How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The train sounds may be a problem for some but personally we quite like trains so no issue for us. The rooms are a little less than sound proof as well but again wasn't a big problem at all.
Perfect for just a couple of nights. Really close to town when driving with excellent beach and restaurants near by. Very good value for money and the room was perfect.

Everything was fine.
Host was very friendly and helpful, he gave us a ride to the bus station 🙂 The place was clean, comfortable and modern (with smart TV).

Everything was great. Apartment was clean, everything was functional. You are in the center in 3 minutes. The owners were amazing and helped me with anything I needed.

We had a lovely stay! Our room was comfy and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. Our apartament was close to the beach (10 minutes walk), lots of shops around. I would highly recommend Lana apartmani to everyone 😊

Location is a bit far from the seashore but this is not a big problem. Also, the bathroom could benefit from a shower stall. Again, not a big problem.
Demir is a great host. The apartment was clean, spacious and had all necessary amenities.

This is a great place to stay for a few days. The room is bright, everything is new, the bed is soft and comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need. The main thing is that it is very quiet, you can sleep well. The hosts were very hospitable and helped us throughout the entire time. When we return to Bar we will definitely stay here again.

The apartment is nice, has everything you need for a short stay. The owners are very friendly. As we got sick during our stay the owner helped us with giving us medicine and helped with buying groceries. Definitely would recommend this place.

If you're looking for convenient new apartments within walking distance from the sea, this is your option. The price fully matches the quality. The hosts are fantastic people! They helped us a lot during our stay. They take care of your needs instead of ignoring them. The rooms have great beds, air conditioning, and spacious terraces. I believe this is one of the best options in the city of Bar :)

If you want to spend your vacation on 10 out of 10⭐, stay in here. Incredible hospitable hosts✨ We visited more than 5 cities in Montenegro and this place for living is the best. All conditions are on 1000% out of 100%👌 The big and very comfortable bed with orthopedic mattress (we were able to sleep with our son without any difficulties, although we were provided bed for kid (free))👍 There is a free parking place in front of the house! The apartment is new. The living room, kitchen and bathroom looks like new. I would like to say big thank you for your hospitality, apartments and attentive attitude!! I will recommend you all my friends and will come back to you on my vacation in Montenegro 🙏

Host was very kindness, helpfull and hospitality. Responded quickly to our questions and was always available for help. Also gave us travel recommendations. The apartment was modern and equipped with all necessary accessories. House was located in calm neighbourhood with the beautifull view for the mountains. Huge advatage was train station a few meters away apartment. Truly recommended this place, best option to stay in Bar! :)

Wonderful apartments with stylish interior. The bed and all the appliances were very comfortable. The room had a large amazing terrace, perfect for morning workouts or a cup of coffee. The walk to the beach is about 15-20 minutes but we didn’t really mind. If you’re sensitive to noise then passing by trains might disturb you. For us it was okay, not too noisy. The hosts were very kind and caring. Thanks to them we had a great trip!
