How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Good value for money, kept clean and inviting. The accommodation had everything you need and we enjoyed relaxing on the patio with the cats.

It’s nothing really but there was one cat which would come and sit on my chair in the garden. It’s no big deal of course and there is a little bit of climbing to get to the apartment but it is very minor for me it wasn’t an issue. Overall nothing!
Overall, I liked it a lot. The location was close to beach and shops. The garden was nice . I had a cute table and chairs. I had enough toilet paper (because some places don’t even give you enough) The hosts helped me organise a transfer from the airport which I’m thankful to them as there is no public transport from the airport and taxis would have ripped me off probably.

The studio smells a little bit on musty.
Studio on ground level in a small town-very quite. Free parking next to the house. Terrace with table and chairs in front of the entrance door. Good choice if you want to visit Kotor-only 15-20 minutes drive to the old city.

I prefer to say area of improvements; AC was not strong enough even though it was on the highest Bed was slightly hard Overall pleasant stay

Very friendly and helpful host (He even helped pick me up a few streets down the road as I was lost because phone app didn’t work). The small apartment is nice. Very clean. You have a small kitchen with all the kitchen stuff you need. A 20 min. walk to center of Tivat. Nice garden and small terrace. Good value for money.

Very nice apartment, even better than in the pictures. The hosts are very helpful. Quiet. Shop in a few minutes walk, center 10 minutes away, airport 30 minutes walk. I highly recommend this apartment, thanks :).

Only maybe it is not good if you are 2 meters tall... Haha
Everything was perfect! I had all needed kitchen tools, towels, confortable bed, terrace to sit under the sun, and they were flexible for my check-in and check-out. Very recommended if you travel alone or with company!

Just a minute walk from IDEA supermarket and the harbour. Very spacious room and very clean. Not the most luxurious looking room but definitely worth the price

Beds were a bit on the hard side, room smelled a bit damp when first entering and had some mould in bathroom.
Very friendly staff, close to the city, great airconditioning, pool set up in front yard, great patio to sit outside. Fridge an kitchen looked brand new. Room size adequate for 2 to 3 persons. Small duck pond outside of room was nice to look at.

We came late due to border crossing issues, but the host was flexible with check in. Remarkably close to a regional road, but in an incredibly quiet location. Not difficult to find it.

This family-run apartment is a real bargain concerning the price/quality ratio. The apartment is perfectly clean and includes everything a budget traveller might need. There is a heater; thus, it is always warm inside in winter. It is close to the centre of Tivat and transportation opportunities. No major thing to complain, definitely suggested!
