How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There were some dog noises from next door.
Host Ivan and his mother were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given two cold beers on arrival and then some home made cake on the second day. Ivan organised a taxi for us to hike Prutas. The location is just outside of town and very close to a supermarket. Durmitor entrance roughly 30 mins walk, but stopping in town for a coffee on the way breaks this up. We had a wonderful time exploring Durmintor and the Tara river. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend!

Comfortable, clean, spacious and well-equipped - a perfect base a few minutes from Zabljak town centre and walking distance to the lake and national park. Kind, helpful and responsive hosts.

The bungalow is an incredibly cosy little house, spotlessly clean, close to the bus station and center of Zabljak but in a quiet part from which you get a view over the rural area. Ivan and his mum are very caring hosts. I can highly recommend the place and look forward to coming back.

It gets a bit bright in the morning as there are no curtains and it is a 10min walk from the center (which didn‘t bother us at all)
We had a great time at Ivan‘s bungalow, especially his Mom was super welcoming and explained everything to us in a mix of languages :D She even gave us some homemade Pita at check-out, so nice! The bungalow is a great „tiny house“ and we can only recommend it!

We stayed at the bungalow in June for 2 nights (sorry this review is so late!). The bungalow was lovely and super clean, we had everything we needed. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. Great location -short work into the town. We will look forward to coming back to stay in the future.

Everything was perfect.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.Everything was new, there were blinds at the windows,which kept rooms dark at night, something that I appreciate.There are two floors, the ground floor works as a kitchen and a living room.The first floor is a bedroom.There is also a conservatory where we ate our breakfast in the morning.It's extra space to the ground floor and the first floor.The whole apartment is fitted with wood , which is very pleasant and adds to the atmosphere of a cosy mountain cabin.The host is very friendly and checked with us if everythinv was ok, which it always was.Everything worked and we really felt at home.Thank you, Ivan!

Ivan built a cosy place, exactly as the pictures show, and his family keeps it lovely and really clean. They are all warming and helpful. The shower is great and the kitchenette is convenient to prepare the basics. Zabljak has a city centre but is in fact a scattered place and Ivan bungalow is in a quiet place at about 1 mile away from it, but it is an easy walk and you find restaurants and markets along the way.

Everything was neat and cozy. Location is great, center is very close, and countryside accessible. The hosts were great, they even borrowed us few toys and snow accessories for the little one 😊. Overall a great experience and we hope we'll become regulars!

The dogs next door bark a little at night
We received a warm welcome (although we cannot understand the local language, we appreciated the intent). The host was helpful with questions regarding hiking/activities. The bungalow is very cute, comfortable and clean. It was nice and warm with the electric heater going, and there is a fire for winter too. It's a 5 minute walk to town (supermarkets, restaurants) and 20-30 minute walk to Black Lake.

The booking went smooth and communication was easy. Ivan is a great host. He welcomed us personally and always offered support if needed. The house was super clean and well equipped. The location is in walking distance from the town and a market is close by. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Ivan!
