How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The place was very clean and affordable. We were welcomed very kindly by the hosts. The beds were comfortable and the room was very spacious. The location is great, close to a supermarket and restaurants but also close to all the nature spots you probably want to visit.

Nothing to complain about.
The manager is super friendly. Even though he does not speak much English, we managed to communicate with no problems. He was always very friendly and checking if we were happy with our stay, and even offering vodka shots after a long day hiking. The facilities are very clean and modern. The location is also good.

The place was perfect: clean, spacious and with a friendly environment. Our room had a fridge, kettle, cutlery and dishes, so we were able to make simple meals which was practical. It also had a balcony outside where you could enjoy your meals and drinks - the host even offered us beers. If we ever come back to Zabljak we will be more than happy to stay there again. Thanks for such a welcoming stay! :D

Excellent location in the heart of Žabljak, close to food and a market. Very quiet. Great sized rooms. The two shared bathrooms were clean and sufficient for the number of guests. Excellent value. The hosts were very responsive and quick to help or provide anything required. Would definitely stay here again!

Very close to everything you need, from starting point for hikes, to the store etc.

Comfortable place to stay for several days in Žabljak. Cozy room with a balcony where you can relax and drink tea. The room is also equipped with tableware and electric kettle. It was warm even during the night while it was only +5℃ outside. I'd love to mention owners, they were very nice, friendly and really hospitable people.

This room was so cheap and clean. The owners were so lovely and despite the language barrier were very willing to help. I would reccomend to everyone. Zabljak was stunning. A 10/10 stay!!

The apartment is close to the city centre. It is clean as well as shared bathrooms. Host is very nice, he was waiting us to arrive after check in hours without additional payments. There is a small shop around 100m away.

Close to bus station, only 5 minutes walk. Everything is clean and people are nice. It is good location to go for a hike or do rafting. People will help you if something is needed

The beds were making too much noise when moving 😂
Perfect location, very close to the nearby restaurants and cafe. Good for a night or two night stay. The hosts were very friendly and helped us parking the car outside. It was great value for money.

Great value for the money, close to the city centre, very nice family, bathrooms were cleaned every day, we've been asked to replace towels, spent a couple days hiking in Durmitor, exceptional experience. Highly recommend!

Location on google maps is correct, however, depending on where you come from (that was our case) google may offer strange routing.
Location - close to city centre. Very clean. Enough parking space. Kettle and fridge in the room. Nice owner.

Unfortunately, our camping trip was drenched by heavy rain, and we found ourselves in need of alternative accommodation. Thankfully, we stumbled upon this wonderful place. Despite all our belongings being wet, the host went above and beyond to assist us: the host already utilized all their airers (drying racks), and they kindly freed up one for our use upon our request. This gesture allowed us to dry our belongings and salvage what we could from the rain-soaked ordeal. Furthermore, we were impressed by the impeccable cleanliness of the accommodation, and the shared bathroom was spotless, being cleaned multiple times throughout the day. Despite a language barrier, the host's generosity and friendliness shone through. We managed to effectively communicate with the help of Google Translate, bridging the gap between English and Serbian. On our second night, the host's wife surprised us with a delightful treat of homemade pancakes. It was an incredibly kind and thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more memorable. We highly recommend staying at this place. The hosts are exceptionally friendly, exemplify true hospitality, and the rooms are kept in pristine condition. Their willingness to go the extra mile for their guests sets them apart. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The sun came in quite strong early in the mornings as the curtains have quite a gap, but it wasn’t a huge issue and wouldn’t stop me staying again
lovely, comfortable rooms and very friendly owners who even brought us pancakes on our second night. the location is good, very close to the main centre whilst still being quiet.
