Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaThe room has no window, only a patio dooe without mosquito net, so there is no natural bentilation. We had very big problem with the internet which interrupted very often and did not work for minute or even longer. The main internet in the room only worked for the first 2-3 days, than it didn’t anymore. Only pool internet worked, luckily we were near the pool so we had a strong signal.
Quiet area without noice, the bathroom is separate ftom the toilet (but the toilet does not have a sink)

United StatesOyster Pond area is one of the more isolated parts of St. Martin. Remember, the island is small - 7 x 8 miles but Oyster Pond is 2+ miles off the N7, the main road that circumnavigates the island. This is not far in the great scheme of things but the terrain (very undulating) makes walks more strenuous. As such, many staying here would prefer the flexibility of having a car. We got by without one but many travelers (e.g., families and less mobile) would have a more enjoyable stay if they had a car.
Delphine and the entire staff at the Colombus Residence were excellent, always available and so helpful, The apartment was fantastic - living space was great for us (just 2 of us, but easily 4). We had a kitchenette with two hobs, a large fridge, microwave, etc. Bathroom/shower was clean, and a separate room for the toilet. The outdoor patio overlooking pool and Oyster Bay (sunrise) was huge. We walked everyday around the area (some steep hills) and loved the Bread and Butter store as well as the local restaurants (BZM, Oasis and Mama Pizza). We also walked to Galion Beach (approx 35 mins along the coast path - enter opposite BZM and past old Coralita resort and around the headland then wade across a small channel - knee/thigh deep - to Galion Beach). This is a beautiful, quiet beach and out favorite on Sint Maarten. Every day we walked to the French Quarter (along Rue de Carolita about an hour) where we got public buses to all major destinations on the island (Marigot, Grand Case, Pinel Island/Cul-de-Sac, Philipsburg) We never waited more than 1-3 minutes for a bus anywhere on the island. If you are a family and/or don’t/can’t walk then strongly recommend renting a car or using a taxi to French Quarter then get a bus.

United StatesThere are only few places to eat and see nearby being right across into the French side but we had a rental car so wasn’t much of an issue
Plenty of space. Clean in a very quiet location with views of the water. Perfect place to relax. The owner is super nice and always available via WhatsApp

United StatesOne thing to be aware of is that the French side of the island sometimes has water supply problems. During my stay the water went out for several hours a few times. I was able to work around it, but it's something to be aware of. Not the hotel's fault, of course.
Oyster Bay French side is a great location - completely quiet with no traffic or noisy nightclubs, but easy access by car to anywhere on the island. The view from my balcony was lovely and having a kitchenette was very useful. The bed was large and comfortable and the A/C worked well. Several good restaurants nearby - my favorite was BZH, which you could walk to if you wanted. The food on St. Martin is fabulous - it's like being in Europe. Delphine and the rest of the staff are wonderful. I will definitely come back.

United StatesThere is not really any public transportation close by. There is no elevator, so if you have mobility issues, consider that in requesting your room. We did fine with the steps. There is still a lot of hurricane damage in other properties in the area. The moves to rebuild are slow.
The view from the third floor apartment's terrace is amazing. The bed was comfortable. AC was great but we only needed it at night. WiFi was fine. This is like being in a French village in the Caribbean. It's very quiet. The market that you can walk to is quaint, but the options for main courses are limited. We made it work. There is delivery but we never tried that. If you have a car there are supermarkets. The bakery was great. We had an issue with the cable TV and then the water heater. Delphine was great and had repairmen out to fix things promptly. There are three nice restaurants you can walk to. The pool was lovely. We used it every day. Cecilia is a very friendly woman who helps care for the property. She took me on a day trip to Marigot and Grand Case. She will also take you to airport.

United Statesstayed in the 2Br apartment with a beautiful view overlooking Oyster Bay. Very spacious accommodations with large balcony and everything we needed for 5-day stay (large fridge, two-burner stove, etc). Pool was awesome and location was perfect for us since we had a car to see the whole island (although there are several nice restaurants/bakery/market within walking distance). We enjoyed our morning/evening hikes up the hill overlooking the Caribbean - beautiful! And owner (Delphine) was awesome; she welcomed us with a box of chocolates and seasonal cocktail that were delicious. Highly recommend Colombus Residence!

NorwayThe apartment was close to the pool and there was little privacy on the terrace. The wifi did not work in the bedroom, Delphine offered to fix it but we did not want her to fix it as the staff was not wearing face masks.
Delphine was a great host, always helpful and very nice. Cozy and homy apartment. Big plus that the windows and doors to the balcony had insect screens.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed our stay at Columbus Résidence :-) The studio was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities needed. The terrace overlooking the swimming pool was a fantastic place to relax. The swimming pool is the right size and is clean. It was also very quiet, which is exactly what we needed! Delphine and Cecilia were very pleasant and always available if we needed anything. Would definitely stay there again!
