How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Daniela is the best host I've ever met. Thank you for everything, if we ever come to Struga again, we won't even be thinking of searching for a place to stay. I highly recommend it as the room was so clean and we found everything we needed in it.

Very helpful owner. Bicycles onto balcony. We had two nights as sat out a rainy day plus needed a rest day.

Daniela was the most lovely person and an awesome host. The apartment was completely clean and we were even able to cook some nice dinners. Daniela let us use the washing machine free of charge. The location of the apartment is really close to some nice beaches as well as Struga's city center. The bus to Ohrid for a day trip leaves just a few minutes away.

The room was great, it was tidy and had all the necessities one would expect. In additional it also had an iron which I always see as a plus! Definitely a 10/10 experience.

The location was great. There were stores and restaurants nearby, and the city center is super close. The hostess was super nice, easy to communicate with, and she even upgraded our apartment to a better one. The apartment was clean and beautiful, and there wasn't any noise at all. If I return to Struga I would definitely take this deal again. Highly recommended.

I have got the key just in time very good and friendly service in new rebuilt rooms. A garage for my Motorbike was also available. The house is close to the City and you can walk at Restaurants/Bars. I will stay there evey time again.

The Apartment was amazing! It was comfortable, neat and clean! It is located in front of the beach and within a short walking distance from the center of the town! The owner is really kind and helpful! We definitely recommend it!

Appartment has everything that you need for comfortable stay, it was spacious enough and double bed was very comfortable. The kitchen has all the needed kitchenettes and the bathroom was nice and clean. It even has a laundry washing machine, with dryer. Location is the best possible in Struga. The two largest Beach Bars are on 2min walk, the center (the main bridge) is on 5min walk, parking is available inside the building area and lots of space around also. The staff (Daniela) is very friendly and she is always there for any questions or to show you around. Definitely will recommend for a couple or a family with a kids as it has all that you need for a cozy vacation.

It was a little tricky to find it with the directions. But it was not hard once you understood the directions.
The place was comfortable and a lot of light. Secure and quite. It had hot water and a kitchenette. Close to the lake. We will stay there again if we need too

The beds were comfortable, everything was new and clean. The kitchen was very nice, had all the necessary utensils. The balcony had great view of the city and the lake.

We both cut our feet on glass that was on the floor. We messaged this to the owner and she didn’t even give a response. The glass was there from a previous occupant. We swept the floor and moved all the dirt and glass into a corner.
Good value for money, comfortable and fairly easy to walk into town.

First, this is a room in an apartment, not a private apartment and there are 3 rooms per apartment. I invited some of my local friends (3 people) over to chill on the balcony, the owner saw them entering the apartment and directly called me yelling at me that this apartment was booked for 2 people max. This was not the issue as I understand the terms, and I told her that we will just go chill outside when she first mentioned it, but she kept repeatedly yelling at me with an angry tone and telling me she will refund me and I should go somewhere else and this was at 10:30 PM so I was very uncomfortable and I didn't want to pass the night in the street, and this was all so I don't leave a negative review about this and she keeps her high Booking rating, she didn't care about hospitality but only her rating. When we were leaving we met her at the entrance and she kept the same attitude in front of my friends yelling at me and offering back the money in her hand. I just told her over and over again that we will just chill outside and she kept making me uncomfortable. Earlier today I left what I believe to be a fair review with 7 points. After that, they had the audacity to call me on my phone multiple times giving me immense discomfort during my work to try and make me change it.
