How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Some of the kitchen items were not clean.
It is located very close to the bus station and is still an easy walk to town. The unit was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot. Shopping centre nearby.

The neighbourhood was nice but at night there was not much lighting in the area.
The host was super friendly and helpful. As for the apartment it was pretty nice and clean.

Very cozy and new apartment that has everything you need for a short or long stay. The building is new with good taste furniture, and clean with a spacious layout. We came late in the evening and were still personally received very nicely. It was so good to have some small goodies like bottled water and coffee. The bed is perfect for sleeping. We can really recommend the place! Thanks!!

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the views were amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. Overall, it was a great stay. Viktor in the morning was very helpful with check out.

You can't beat the price or the location. Everything is close by, the train station, most of the attractions in the city. Apartment was clean and staff very helpful. We were able to leave our luggage and go and explore Skopje before our mid afternoon bus; this was very handy.

Nice spacious apartment with good Internet and lots of hot water. I was there in March so it was chilly outside but the air conditioner unit kept the entire apartment warm. The building is very quiet. Host is delightful.

Nice location, close to downtown, and with public transportation to other cities available nearby. Friendly staff, let them arrange you reliable metered taxi or a hired car. Apartment was clean and modern with a great shower and very comfortable bed, felt quite new.

I have never left a review of a hotel but our stay here was so wonderful, I just had to. We stayed there only one night. Staff was there when we checked in. They were so kind and extremely helpful with all our questions. The room and bathroom were very modern and extremely clean. It was in a perfect location, walking distance to many major tourist spots.

I was 4 nights in this apartment. The building is quite new but not really maintained, 2nd floor, the elevator is broken, the apartment is fine but the cleanliness is lacking, needs improvement, the internet is problematic and unstable. The central heating doesn't work... the price is too expensive... only the air conditioner in the living room. My score is 8 even 7.5 because of the price. .

Absolutely nothing.
Super clean apartment. Very nice and quiet location. The check in and check out processes are pretty smooth. The host is nice and easy to communicate with.

I stayed in the apartment twice. It is clean, well furnished, great for solo or group travellers. Owners are communicative, answer fast, they take care of any issues. Location is perfect for the train and bus station and walking distance to the tourist part of the city, to the main square. New building, safe surroundings, nearby grocery store.
