Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanYou have to pay in USD, or it'll be MMK equivalent calculated with the black market rate (3,700MMK/USD at the time) unlike all the other hotels I stayed in Myanmar which used the official rate(2,100MMK/USD). So it ended up being much more expensive than we anticipated. It was very hard to sleep at night because they turned off the generator at 11PM and it was simply too hot. We understand that the situation is hard, but it would've been much better if they could cut cost elsewhere(maybe like smaller breakfast or turning off the excess lighting outside) or at least, run the generator later at night than they do now instead so it won't affect guests' sleep as much.
The staffs are friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was really good.

ItalyIt's not the hotel's responsibility, but the current situation in Myanmar (April 2024) is very complicated. This is causing numerous power outages throughout the country. The hotel has its own independent generator to ensure electricity at night, especially necessary for air conditioning due to the extreme heat in Bagan during this period. Unfortunately, I was the only guest, and I understand the challenges they face in keeping the generator running all day for just one guest. The power outage lasted for over 48 hours, but the staff was always incredibly kind in turning on the electricity when I was in my room so that I could use the air conditioning and find some relief from the heat. Therefore, always be understanding with the local people who are going through a really difficult time. They always try to do their best with a smile, but it requires tremendous effort.
I fell in love with this place immediately! The rooms are a bit small, but they perfectly match the pictures you see published here. The staff, which is composed of the family managing the hotel, is absolutely adorable. They always made sure everything was going well, quickly helped me book a minivan to Mandalay when the JJ Express buses were full. Through the staff, I also arranged a tuktuk tour to visit the magnificent temples of Bagan and rented an ebike (scooter) for independent exploration. Their restaurant, just a few steps from the hotel, is fabulous! For breakfast, they offer many delicious options, and be sure to try the local breakfast—it's worth it! The dinner menu offers a wide variety of choices, with Myanmar, Chinese, Thai, and Indian cuisine, and all dishes are truly delicious at very affordable prices. I felt completely at home in this place; I was truly sad to leave! If I ever manage to return to Bagan, I won't hesitate about where to stay!

Good people who are always in a hurry for help. My trip was planned in a haste but they made it wonderful and satisfactory with their pure hospitality, especially by the master.

AustriaMake sure you take USD in cash with you, it was not possible to pay by credit card in USD and it will be very expensive in MMK. In my case about 60% more expensive.
The equipment is simple but functional. The breakfast was very rich and plentiful. The staff took great care of me, especially because I had stomach problems. I was given a simple vegetable soup and plenty of tea for breakfast in the first few days, which helped me a lot. I was also given lots of tips for sightseeing.

SingaporeI arrived too early and the units were fully booked so i cant find a place to sleep. The staff didn't let me sleep in the car in front of the hotel. I'm staying there anyway. They are also fussy about the banknotes. The atmosphere is noisy because the generator is nearby and the electricity is down every now and then.
The place looks clean and new. It's newly built I think.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the family owned and managed A Little of Bagan Hotel. Eeveryone was very helpful and friendly going beyond to provide a wonderful experience of staying and enjoying Bagan. This included organising the wonderful Balloons over Bagan trip at a very price - an amazing experience that we will always treasure. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful - with this at their Little Bit of Bagan Restaurant that is located a few minutes walk just around the street corner. An excellent location and atmosphere design, with excellent meals also available there at lunchtime and in the evening. We were provided with a special evening meal the night before our departure. The hotel itself is located in a quiet side street very close to the more of a main street that the restaurant is located on. With only a few minutes walk to a range of little local shops and not far from ATMs and other services including electric scooters, and numerous tuk tuks and taxis and guides. All round a very special stay.

GermanyI booked a tour to Mount Popa with the owner. So a friend of his took me there and the trip was pretty overpriced.
The property itself is pretty nice. It’s well located. To be honest, the current situation makes is difficult for hotels to offer a really comfortable stay, but the owner is a lovely guy. He really did everything he could to let me have an enjoyable stay. He provided powerbanks and battery powered lights for me, offered to turn on the generator anytime, rented motorbikes for me, helped me to organize my transfer to my next destination and made breakfast at 5am for me. So if you decide to go to Bagan, you can be sure, to get the best stay possible here.

United Arab EmiratesThe location is okay. But I guess it was VERY BAD timing as there was a festival and the chanting on the loud speaker went on for 24-7 so I couldn’t sleep at all. It was NOT comfortable for the first 2 days. They so kindly moved our room to the main floor but then there was construction in the plot beside AND you can hear them talking in the reception area as it’s very very small. They mention that the room has a terrace, but the terrace is just the hallway.. not a real balcony.. make sure to read everything clearly beforehand
Very friendly and accommodating host - helped us get a scooter and bus tickets to Yangon. He was very helpful and kind towards my husband. Breakfast and restaurant is really really good! Make sure you get a room in the upper floor

They fixed my problem as I I was not able to exchange my USD ( it has fold marks) and unable to withdraw from ATMs. They swiped my card and gave me cash, booked my bus ticket to Yangon and arranged everything I needed. My trip would have been a disaster if not for them. Couldn’t recommend them enough.

United StatesThe most memorable stay I’ve had in a long time - October 2023. Let’s start with the basics: the hotel is located in my personal favorite area of Bagan - the border of Nyaung U and Old Bagan, which is walkable, full of restaurants and pubs, and centrally located between the monuments and the river. The property is beautiful and meticulously cleaned; the bathrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Next: the staff is FANTASTIC. Mr. Min runs the hotel and will help you seamlessly plan out your trip/ coordinate and provide any recommendations you need. The restaurant’s two cooks make scrumptious food and I couldn’t get enough of the filling Burmese breakfast. Everyone else, from support staff to cleaning staff, is extremely welcoming and helpful. There’s a generosity here that I can’t quite describe, the kind you have for family members you really care about and don’t see often. Come here to be a valued guest and experience it for yourself.

MalaysiaThe only thing that need to improve is the water quality in the bathroom. it was salty. and of course mosquitoes in the reception area.
First thing is its very close to the bus station. it took me around 15 minute to reach. there are lots of shops and restaurants around. In fact they have their own restaurant just 50 meters away from the hotel. The hotel is clean and beds are comfy. The staff are friendly and speaks good English. He will help arranging the e-scooter/bus ticket and other information needed to visit around Bagan. The complimentary breakfast was exceeded my expectation as a vegan. So they will accommodate your food preference. overall I am satisfied and love to stay there again.
