The front desk is so slow in dealing with problems. I had been waiting towel & slipper for an hour because they did not prepared it properly. I came with my family, 4 pax overall, but there were only 3 sets of amenity prepared.

One lift was out of order and the remaining lifts were extremely slow. It takes time and you need patience to get from the hotel lobby to your room. That can affect the overall stay.

Room was very spacious, location in the heart of the city centre and the view from my room one of the best that someone can have in Ulaanbaatar. Breakfast which was included also exceeded my expectations.

Expensive: The hotel's rates are higher compared to other comparable properties in the area. Aesthetic Stagnation: Despite its clean appearance, the hotel's decor and facilities show signs of age. The charm of yesteryears now hints at a need for modernization to meet contemporary 5-star standards. Consierge service. First morning consierege helped us to get "taxi" from the hotel to Expocenter, which costs 150.000 MNT. Return trip and next days trips price were only 30-35.000 MNT.

Carpets in the room were filthy. Really disgusting and stinky. Likewise, the carpets in the breakfast room were incredibly dirty and festering with dirt, crumbs and even in staples and nails!! The breakfast was poor and most items weren't labeled or showed allergens. Bread was stale and fruit was never replenished, so on 2 days I couldn't have any fruit. Restaurant and room service menu had items marked as "vegan" which contained cream and cheese. This menu should be revised to say "vegetarian" as the items they are selling as vegan are certainly not. Communication was slow prior to arriving and the quote for an airport pick up was more than double what any other taxi or driver service in Ulaanbaatar was offering. The rooms are a bit shabby and could do with a revamp and definitely a replacement of those carpets.

We had to carry our luggage up to our rooms ourselves. This I did not expect from a 5 star hotel. Staff who were not at the reception spoke little English, unfortunately but were very nice.

The one staff whose name I do not know was amazing. We had an issue with our room and he fixed it immediately. Thanks to him our stay was incredible.

The running water in the bathroom was dirty (brown when we filled the tub). That’s the city water so not the hotel’s fault.

Various items at breakfast (including cutlery and crockery) ran out periodically because it could get very crowded with large groups. The staff could have been more proactive in this regard.

The rooms were a good size and of an expected standard. Breakfast was a decent buffet with Western and Asian options. The location is great, just off Sukhbaatar Square. Many options for shopping, dining and culture close by. There is a very convenient ATM just off the lobby.

This isn’t really a 5 star hotel. There is no ( visible ) concierge or help with bags. You need to carry everything yourself from the door which isn’t really a 5 star experience. The elevators are really slow and there are only two so getting in and out of the room can add a lot of time to the day. It is a way to bond with other people in the hotel though. Check in and check out is slow. For some reason the staff only have two computers behind the desk so even if 6 people are there they can only help 2 at a time. Staff is good but setup is not.

The property is clean and in the centre of UB. Places like Shangri-La are a little easier from the airport given traffic. Clean rooms and well appointed.
