Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaIn one day they had repair and didn't tell us that it will be in our room until late night, but they asked if it was okay, and when when we said yes, they moved us to another room with the same price, of course. But I think it was a temporary event, so it's okay. Also, we asked them about transfer from the bus station, to which we arrived to the city on Booking before, but they didn't answer and we had to catch a taxi on the street.
Stayed there in May for 4 nights. The stuff was nice, understanding and helpful, the administrator speaks English. Breakfast was wonderful, they ask you personaly at what time cook it for you. The rooms were really clean and warm, the bathroom wes too, but sanitary engeneerring was a bit old, but worked okay. The kitchen was clean and nice too, not very spacious. They have a comfortable lounge and books in various languages. The rooms, the house and the area was very quiet at night, despite the fact that it is the very downtown.

South KoreaGenerally a good accommodation, but I don't recommend the Comfort Double room. It was right in front of the dinning room and kitchen, people were laughing and chatting all night. I couldn't sleep until 4 a.m. I was soooo disappointed because the Comfort room was even more expensive than other rooms.
Reasonable price, Good location

JapanIt would have been even better if there was one locker for each person to store valuables.
I had a really great time. The owner was friendly and came up with a tour plan as soon as I arrived at the guesthouse. On that tour, we visited Terelj National Park and stayed at Ger. I was guided by a man named Sayku, who was very experienced and gave me a lot of information. Please stay at this guesthouse when you visit Ulaanbaatar. You will surely have a valuable experience

RussiaThe hostel is on the top floor with no lift and the steps of the stairs are very uneven. The room is not a 6-bed dorm as it is in a corridor, therefore you have 14 people crossing that room since it is the antechamber of the 8-bed dorm. There are not enough bathrooms, which are always messed. Additionally, the staff members are liars and nasty: much prior to my arrival I chatted with them to collect the necessary information to plan my trip and book their hostel accordingly. They gave me the wrong information about when the events connected to the Naadam were taking place and therefore I missed many of them. The tour they sell is overpriced above any greedy advantage you can imagine to extort out of tourists, especially considering the fact that the visitors are backpackers (it's a hostel, so people in need of something cheap). The tour was horribly and inefficiently organized (you spend more time eating their 1$ sandwiches than visiting the horse racing place) and they lied about the final ceremony saying "it's bad, nobody goes": the stadium was full and it was amazing. The owners of this place should really shame for their behaviour and for their presentation of Mongolia. Backpackers make huge sacrifices to discover their country, and this is how this hostel "welcomes" the visitors. GO AWAY FROM THEM. 100% SCAM.
The location is the only positive aspect of this hostel. I moved to another place and I regret A LOT for all the money I paid to them. Instead of their Naadam tour, you'd better buy tickets on the official website https://enaadam.mn/english (yes, it is spelt differently naadam --> nadaam and unlikely it appears if you search on Google, try Yandex that is the Russian Google) or from the scalpers outside the stadium or from other sources.

BelgiumThe owner is not really a caring or warm person going by the premise: you chose to come here. So if you’re not happy, deal with it yourself. - There are only 2 bathrooms for 25+ people. - It is bloody hot in the rooms, no ventilator was provided. - Expect concrete mixers underneath your window at 02:00 AM. - Too expensive tours were proposed from this kind of low budget accommodation point of view. Very little info was given, except for a fixed route and a price. In the end, we took a way cheaper tour from their neighbors, where we did not even sleep, but were welcomed in a very warm and polite way. Caring and listening, trying to customize a tour at your needs, wishes and budget. Yes indeed, you end up getting what you pay for. Which is very little money. But for a hotel naming itself ‘a tour organiser’… We were not feeling welcome at all. A pitty, because the young staf was fabulous.
Good location. Friendly people working here, except from the owner. Efficient airport transfers.
