Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe toilet seat wasn’t fully on, but it wasn’t an issue for me, especially after staying in the countryside most of the trip.
Wonderful place! Beds were super comfortable, has AC, plenty of hot water, and the breakfast was big with a ton of options and a lot of fresh fruit.

RussiaThe check-in was three hours later than it was supposed to be! Nobody has explained it. The cleaning service was absolutely irresponsible: we asked many times to clean the room but they did it when they wanted. THE HOTEL GIVES THE WRONG INFORMATION ABOUT ITS SERVICE!!! No bathrobes (it was told they would be there), no swimming pool (it was marked among facilities when booking), no water everyday, no shampoo every day!.. The room has a small kitchen but it was if no use as it had nothing in it. When I asked for the pillow for our child they told us they had no pillows and gave an advice to use the cushing from the sofa. The breakfast was very poor with hot drinks for extra money. The service was always very slow and not friendly.

IrelandStaff. Very careless and rude. Breakfast is until 10 but at 8:50 they had ran out of essentials and didn’t bother refilling. The girl on duty just sat there staring into space while guests walked around trying to find milk or cheese. Receptionist was very unfriendly. The laundry price list is ridiculous. Restaurant staff wanted to finish up early at 9 pm even though the restaurant is open until 10 and told us there was no more food when we checked in at 20:45. Only after we insisted did they admit there was in fact plenty of food. My partner wanted to use the toilet downstairs and asked the receptionist for toilet paper as there was none in the men’s bathroom (nor was there soap). The receptionist told him to get the toilet paper from the female bathroom himself?!

MalaysiaAbsolutely rubbish. We didn't even get to stay here as my 5 rooms were cancelled by the hotel and we found out only upon check in. After 16 hours of flying?!! They just sent us to corporate hotel. And then charged me 10x the amount of the price shown on booking when I had requested for official cancellation from platinum hotel end since it was them who didn't let us check in. We paid 10x the amount for rooms we Did Not occupy. Scammed. I've had to dispute and cancel my credit card whilst traveling. And now need to do dispute with booking.com

United StatesThey did not honor the price I booked for, they made me pay using an arbitrary exchange rate that was 10% higher than the real exchange rate, and refused to budge on this. They also did not give me the upgraded room that Booking gave me for a Genius bonus.

Russia1. When I arrived, I saw two dirty pillows with yellow spots and stains on them. It was disgusting. The pillows didn't have pillowcases. It seemed like the staff just forgot to put them on. Anyway, after I got the pillowcases, I still had the feeling that they were greasy. 2. I was charged extra money when I paid for the room. They took another 10% of the price and said it was some kind of tax. It was unexpected. 3. Don't take anything from the refrigerator. They even charge extra for water. It was confusing because every hotel I stayed in this month offered free water.
The room is really big. There are two beds, a TV, a sofa and a chair and a small kitchen here. Bathroom is nice fitted with everything that is needed.
