This might be the best hostel in the world. It's not a luxurious accommodation to lazy around Ulan Bator, but it is perfect to meet other travelers and organize spontaneous tours in Mongolia. If you want to avoid paying expensive pre arranged tours, UB Guesthouse is the place to be. They keep updates information of all available tour groups departing the next days, all for very good prices. Bobby is the most helpful person you will ever meet, and she will make sure that your Mongolia trip happens in the best way possible.

- The hostel is in a soviet double flat. The common area is a large couch in the middle of the corridor, the kitchen is really small and not fit for guests to cook or hangout with more than 2 people. - The female dorm I stayed in was really narrow and is only good to sleep but nothing more.

- Central location near the main square - Clean all day long - Friendly staff who are really trying to help despite not always speaking good English - They organise trip around Mongolia for very very good price if you are five people to gather. - They do not pressure you to buy any of their trips, if you don’t mention it they will not ask you which I found really fair.

During our stay, the water supply was cut off for almost a day, which was a real bummer. But Bobby went out of her way and see to the needs of her guests, which made the situation much less disagreeable.

Excellent location - right next to the main square. Warm and cozy rooms - not to mention how clean they are. The kitchen has every thing you need - from utensils to some basic ingredients. Last but not the least, Bobby and her stuff are the most friendly and helpful people, they answered every of our questions. Definitely one of the best guesthouses we've ever stayed!

Bobby and her team run an excellent guest house with excellent tours made to measure. The guest house itself is extremely clean and offers free tea and coffee which is always a bonus. It's in a great location near the state department store and numerous eateries. Bobby is very knowledgeable and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The bunk beds are in good size rooms and are very comfortable All in all I made the right choice in staying here and am delighted to highly recommend UB guest house as the best place to stay in Ulaanbaatar .

Great experience. Only stayed for one night but feel great about the facilities and atmosphere. Free coffee and tea is offered. Bobby can speak good English and is willing for help all the time. She arranged the taxi service to the airport, which is very convenient and compensate the missing of transportation.

In the manned side of the guesthouse, there are 3 showers (one unisex, 1 male, 1 female). In the mornings, it can get quite busy. On the unmanned side, there's only one bathroom, so if it's busy there, you'll have to wait. Other than that, it's an amazing place!

Bobby and her staff were amazing. They were very honest and helped me out as much as possible. UB guesthouse's tour to the Gobi was wonderful value for money. Khulan and Bataa made the tour so memorable for their kindness. Thank you!

At first it was a bit hard to find. Looking up and reading helps (we weren't so good at that and circled the house two times when we arrived :) )

Very friendly people and super clean place. Boby helped us to get to the airport on time (cheap and more expensive option). We really appreciated her help. The place is also in the heart of Ulaanbaatar - top!

(1) The place was a bit hard to find at first. (2) The guesthouse is on 1/F (UK system) or 2/F (US system), and there is no lift, so you would have to carry your luggage up the stairs on your own. (3) The pillow was a bit soft.

(1) Bobby responded to all our questions promptly before our travel. (2) Bobby and her staff were kind enough to wait until midnight for us to arrive (as our flight landed Ulaanbaatar late at night). (3) Due to an emergency (there was no hot water due to road construction), she attended to it very quickly and installed hot water for us to use the next day, and also upgraded us to a bigger room when the room we booked was no longer available. (4) The kitchen was always clean and tidy. (5) There were sufficient shower rooms and toilet rooms so I never had to wait to access those facilities, and they were always clean and tidy as well. (6) The room had a power adaptor and some clothes hangers. There were lockers to store valuables. (7) Shoes had be taken off before you enter the common room / living room and the rooms. (8) The hostel was close to a convenience store (GS24), two bakeries, ATMs, Fine Arts Zanabazar Museum, and quite close to Sukhbaatar Square.

Everything was excellent! Bobby and her staff are fantastic hosts. The facilities were extremely clean and organized. Navigating Mongolia can be difficult, but Bobby works to ensure that all visitors have a wonderful, fulfilling stay! If you want to experience horseback riding, Bobby knows of a tour you can join (there is a list of available tours posted in the living room -- horse riding is just a small part of a single tour). If you need a bus ticket between cities in Mongolia, Bobby can help arrange it. Also, the guesthouse was arranging paid airport pickups/drop-offs when I was staying there. I loved my stay here and I can't wait to come back ❤️
