Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFantastic stay at urban rooms. It is well connected making it a perfect base to stay for your time in Malta. We had use of all the hotel facilities and the welcome drinks on the rooftop were a perfect touch.

Slovakia-the bathroom could be cleaner (black spots in the corner) -a bit confusing to check in, as the reception was in another building, - the lifts in the main hotel building were too busy - almost impossible to get to the top floor
-very close to the coast (just cross 2 streets), -amazing breakfast (buffet), -a welcome drink, -tickets to the pool Aqualuna, -access to the hotel wellness, -a hotel kitchenette -rooftop seating area

BulgariaOur room was on the 2nd floor facing the street and it was quite noisy in the morning from 6 am to midnight due to a shop across the street. There was no balcony and no possibility to spread our towels and clothes to dry.
The hotel is located close to a stop of the public transport and ferry. There was a choice of food and drinks for breakfast. There was also a variety of fruits.

GreeceCommon areas were small. The elevator too. Breakfast had limited options, although it catered to all tastes.
The staff was great. Mrs Sandra was very helpful and genial . The breakfast covered all tastes. The room was spotlessly clean. Chromecast on the TV in the room allowed us to broadcast channels of our country via live streaming. The bathroom was spacious and very convenient. The Grana restaurant was excellent. We didn't want to leave at check out!

United KingdomWe didn’t get a refill of coffee and milk, went to the room service and they apologised.
Excellent place! Great location to explore the island. We came to Malta for a carnival in February. The weather was amazing. The hotel is located close to a ferry terminal to Valletta- 5 min max a ferry ride and you are in Valletta. It was cheaper and more sensible option ( time wise) to travel by Bolt taxi. The hotel has really good facilities- great breakfast with a view to the sea! You also get access to a sauna etc. rooms are clean and modern with a coffee machine. We loved everything!

North MacedoniaYou must bring slippers with you if you come during the winter period, as the tiles floor is pretty cold. It was a bit chilly during the bath due to lack of proper heating (in January). But everything else was just perfect.
Excellent place to stay. We spent few days in January, it is great value for money to stay here and make daily tours in La Valeta, enjoying the good weather for walking and sightseeing. The breakfast on the balcony on the 9th floor is extraordinary with magnificent view. I must mention Sandra, but also all other dining staff, who specially made us enjoy the cappuccino at the end of the breakfast.

SerbiaWe had small cockroaches poping up from time to time. Aparently, since buildings are being build around this issue is huge. THey did everything they could, sprayed the whole room etc. but we couldn't sleep at all for two out of four nights. Everything else was 10
Everything is new and well designed, room is in separate building from the reception but is really close. The pool area is very nice and the water is warm so even when the wind was blowing it didn't bother us while swimming. The staff is friendly and helpful.

RomaniaWe booked a room with 3 single beds, but the third bed was a fording one. My dad found it comfortable enough, though. I am a very light sleeper, so the noise level was too much for me sometimes due to the windows that didn’t insulate too well. We had no hairdryer in our room. The smell on the staircase was bad pretty much all the time, probably coming from the garbage dumpster. The staircase was also very narrow, but I didn’t mind that too much.
The property is conveniently located, close to public transportation (both bus and ferry services), and within walking distance from Sliema, St. Julian’s, and maybe even Valletta. The room was nicely decorated, and the beds were comfortable. A very spacious bathroom. The bathroom also has a window. *As a note here, the reception and breakfast are both located in the other facility, just around the corner, 115 The Strand Hotel by NEU Collective. The view of Valletta (and Manoel Island) from the breakfast room, located on the 9th floor, was amazing.

United KingdomUrban rooms are up a side street a short walk from check in and the pavement wasn’t great for wheeling our cases. Very small lift but at least it had one as would have struggled with our bags otherwise.
The rooms were a good size with nice bathrooms. All very clean. Pool across the road was an added bonus with loungers and a bar/food, although it was quite busy so for a quieter option we sat on the top deck with great views.
