Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOne of our cleaning days we were left with no towels, whilst reception gave us new ones they were still damp!
The location is absolutely fab for exploring Sliema, I’d recommend adding pool club access if you want a chill day but there’s also a pool on the roof!

United KingdomMy main two downside points is not really anything that the hotel can "fix" a such; the first is the room that was sea facing also meant that it was right next two a two-lane "mini-motorway" running in front of the hotel and on the waterside, which was very noisy. This was disturbing for sleep in the evenings and also drivers hooting early in the morning and waking us up. The second point was the Booking.com advert for ST Bayview hotel, which I found to be misleading with regards to the rooftop pool area. To be clear, the pictures of the "cross" pool you see on this advert is NOT the rooftop of ST Bayview hotels nor any of the other ST hotels for that matter. It is a separate "day /beach club" across the road, called Aqualuna, that you need to pay an addition EUR20 per person for a full day to enter and make use off. I was taken aback when I went to the rooftop and discovered it looked nothing like the advertised pictures, and while this fact might've been mentioned somewhere in the booking.com advert, it was by no means obvious nor transparent.
Lovely modern room. Very comfortable bed and duvet provided, which was essential for me, as some hotels don't provide warm bedding during summer months. Location was in Gzira, 15 mins bus drive away from Valetta, which was great, with plenty public transport available. Our room selected was with sea view, which overlooked the marina, and again this was pretty with small balcony. Breakfast was included, which was a full English buffet, and to be honest, this was nothing special and even on the bland side.

NetherlandsThe coffee cups in the room were not clean. One bed was cracked in 617. But slept perfect in the other wide bed. But i wouldn't rent this room out to couples until this second bed base is fixed due to the noise it made with each movement.
Pool access to Aqualuna, nice bed and shower. Newish bathroom. Extremely accommodating staff at reception. Nice hotel, great location, good breakfast. Perfect for any type of trip.

United KingdomStaff when we checked in weren't accommodating and were quite blunt. No problem day to day though. Breakfast was really busy no matter the time you went. They could do with more tables.
The location was fantastic. The ferry to Valetta was a 10 minute walk at most, and there was a bus stop right outside. The bed was really comfortable and it was very quiet. Breakfast was really good and had lots of options.

United KingdomWe had a nice room in the fifth floor at the front of the hotel and there was substantial road noise all day and all night. That’s Sliema for you though. If noise bothers you it’s probably not the place for you.
It was clean and the staff were great. Nice breakfast too. Convenient for the ferry.

HungaryThe balcony was very small, the chair didn't even fit in so we couldn't sit down outside. The pool area was a bit run down and the water was dirty. We couldn't use the outside pool because its not heated. Dont book just for the gym-wellness area, its not exactly how it seems on the pictures.
The location was perfect, and our room was big and clean. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. One of the cleaners made a heart out of our towels which was super nice! We loved the bar inside the lobby, good cocktails and prices. Restaurants and bars all around to choose from.

Room is spacious and clean and in a very lovely and convenient location, right on the road of restaurants and looking out to the bay, easy public transport links from hotel and nice rooftop area for pool, you can catch the boat into Valetta city centre which is in walking distance and boat takes you across in about 10 mins for small fee (about 10/15mins along bay) lots of tourist information also in area.

Good breakfast, perfect location - bust stops nearby and walking distance to the Sliema - Valletta ferry. The rooms are specious enough for a couple, the beds are comfortable.

United KingdomThe bars directly below the room were really noisy till late at night, the road outside was like a motorway, really noisy and lots of traffic for 24 hours and every bedroom door slammed, nobody shut them quietly, just let them go, all through the night. The door closers need adjusting. We kept pointing out an open door which was constantly left open with a sheer drop down to the ground floor, just pipes, it was never locked and very dangerous for a child. Nobody locked it or put a lock on it. We were promised a taxi from the airport but no one came, the hotel staff just shrugged their shoulders, we had to book a taxi ourselves.
We had a sea view room and it was lovely to sit on the verandah watching the boats. There was a good breakfast.

United KingdomThe swimming pools were FREEZING so only the heated indoor small pool was useable. The sauna benches were broken so only open for half the stay. It seemed a bit run down inside the room, doorknobs came off bathroom door, ceiling very low, balcony door didn’t lock etc… nothing that affected our stay majorly but just something to note.
The location was great, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was nice but quite busy. The balcony was lovely and the shower worked great. Reception looked lovely and generally had a nice feel about the place.

BelgiumWe were unlucky to have some young people that smashed the doors at night. The picture of the nice pool are not from the hotel but a ‘sharing pool/restaurant’ cross the street.
For a 3 star hotel we had a very nice room, it was always clean and breakfast was very acceptable. The location is great and the perfect start for trips around the island!
