Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaIn the other comment, we mentioned that we liked the food however, we didn't like that the staff needs to give the food during buffet and the waiting time to be served.
During the stay, we really liked the clean environment. Also, the staff were really nice and friendly. The food was good too.

PanamaThe reception doesn't let the cleaning people know what room in occupied and what room isn't, and they will open your door in the middle of the day if they don't hear you after they knock at your door. Also the toilet in our room bursted and started leaking water all over. The plumbing system I not good.
Breakfast was great, and if you do not include lunch/dinner in what you pay, €15 for it is a pretty good price.

United KingdomLifts very slow, only 2 for a fully booked hotel, 200 plus guests, receptionist could be more engaging, responses to questions on local transport were minimalist.
Breakfast food good but it was chaotic in ques. Evening meals good with less pressure on tables.

United KingdomI didn't like quality of food and fact that all dishes were outside the glass served by staff, view of the rooms as they were on other balconies or simply a wall and fact that we got separated as we took 3 room and 2 were next to each other when 3rd one was further away.
I liked how friendly and helpful was personnel, location, shop inside the hotel and extras like swimming pool and gaming room.

LithuaniaSince this information was not (obviously) included in the description of this hotel, here are a few things to expect before arriving: 1) Awful breakfast - the food was tasteless, the coffee was exceptionally bad. Although there is quite a range to chose from, I could tell the products used for food making were very cheap. 2) When we first entered our room we saw a few small puddles of (hopefully) water near the bed. the bathroom felt not cleaned thoroughly enough. 3) Absurd, tasteless, kitsch live music “concert” that we happened to witness on the Saturday evening. We felt sorry for the guy singing 2000’s pop songs, maybe he was kidnapped? (the last part of this sentence is certainly a joke) 4) Since we were staying at the end of February, rooms were quite chilly because no heating was available. 5) Indoor swimming pools felt unhygienic. All of the walking areas around the pool were flooded with water and they seem to be very rarely cleaned. Some people put their outdoor shoes near the pool where people are supposed to pass by. 6) It’s not a big thing but the elevator was extremely slow. 7) Some weird rules you have to follow, for example, not being allowed to use towels from your room for the pool. Overall, this comment on negatives seems to be long and may be perceived as arrogant. However, the point I’m trying to make here is that budget hotels DON’T HAVE TO include breakfast, pools, gyms etc. However, if they are willing to provide such extra services, then maybe it would be logical to make them good? Not in extravagant luxurious sense but just providing the bare minimum: hygiene, functionality, supervision.
What we liked: 1) Spacious balcony 2) TV with many English channels and funny Maltese ones 3) Fridge 4) Kettle

SpainThe room and pool area were quite cold in January. There is a quite high additional charge for the use of the sauna which we weren't informed about in advance. The leisure facilities didn't quite meet our expectations. The room and balcony view were of the wall of the next door building. We used our own adapter to plug their EU plugged kettle into their UK sockets.
Nice, clean rooms with comfortable beds and a good shower. Friendly staff. Good value. Variety of hot and continental breakfast choices. Spacious roof terrace with lovely views.

United Kingdomwhen we arrived after a very early morning start(up at 3am) and travelling to airport then 3 plus hour air flight and then bus transport from airport we arrived in room to find not only a faulty kettle which didn't work but with 3 point plug when two are in power points so after going to reception in first instance for an extension lead with 3 points we returned to find faulty kettle. We rang reception asking for a replacement kettle which arrived a good 3 hours later in the evening....this after reporting 90 minutes later....all we wanted on arrival was a drink in the room whilst unpacking. After this everything was excellent and the other thing missing was a few sachets of coffee/biscuits which is generally the norm....what was a welcoming gift was a needle and thread...plus black shoe polish!!!
The food was superb....the property was close to nearly all bus routes......the staff were very friendly and the room was well looked after on a daily basis with fresh bedding and towels...the shower was wxcellent too.

Romania- It was very cold in the rooms. Their only way of heating the rooms is by AC which wasn't enough. Even turned on at maximum speed and temperature, it still didn't manage to heat the room enough. We had to ask for additional blankets! - I cannot state an opinion about the pool, because being very cold in the rooms and common areas (including pool room, which was heated a bit, but not enough to stay in a bathing suit), we didn't use it. All I can say is that in the pool area it smelled strongly like chlorine!
- great food - friendly staff - nights with live music (more like karaoke) - close to buss stations

United KingdomThe hotel was very busy during my stay (mid January) I found some staff not to be very friendly. On occasions I felt like more of an inconvenience rather than a guest.
My room was clean and spacious. Whilst it was on the edge of town and not many amenities nearby there are bus stops just a few metres from the front door. Good variety of food for breakfast and plentiful.

United KingdomWe didn’t realise our ‘all inclusive’ package only came with limited drink options. I have never stayed anywhere with this? The games room was a disappointment. Almost everything was out of order. The pool table was missing balls, had no chalk either and the queues where in poor condition. The heated indoor pool was barely heated at all- freezing cold. The hot-tub was heated but not enough in my opinion the bubbles were manual so had to keep pressing a button. the water was murky…would like to believe it was chemicalled but there was no sign. normally you can smell this. The sauna out of order due to covid. The bar/ cafe (only one was open at a time, but you can get alcohol at either) was only manned by one person so could be slow service and a long wait. The cafe menu was great however the standard was inconsistent. some days gorgeous quality others raw chips and dried out chicken. The tour desk was helpful although misleading. We did the I see Malta hop on hop off tour, I feel not enough Information was given on this for example entrance to some attractions were implied as included- they weren’t. Knowing this we would have saved our money and just got taxis to what we want to do/ where we want to go and not be dictated by their schedule. my We booked a massage at the booking desk. The price was cheap (€45 for 60mins) although I now see why… My aromatherapy massage had no aromas and the masseuse’s phone kept pinging. She would then stop to text or voice message - very unprofessional. There was also a snail on the floor under the massage table which spoke for the cleanliness of the massage room. Overall the customer service had been good, not the friendliest of staff but efficient and got the jobs done. A smile and a good morning goes a long way… on our final day there was a disappointing interaction with the restaurant manager. We walked by the restaurant at 9.35am breakfast. the sign said it finishes at 9.45am.
The hotel was very clean. We had all inclusive and were generally impressed with the food. My partner is a chef so this is saying something! There was a great range of options at every meal with delicious flavours. Upon occasion standards slipped such as raw vegetables and potatoes being served. The onsight shop had everything you could want at reasonable prices. There is a tour desk where you can book experiences. Walking to buggibba is easy (one long road) you’ll reach shops, restaurants, the aquarium and a beach. Mediterraneo Marine park only 10 drive away (taxi cost €8 each way) Airport only 30 min drive away Housekeeping was great! Never any issues.
