Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. GreeceIt's not i did not like it but take into consideration (for the non-British) that in order to use the plug for example to charge your mobile etc. you will need the typical adaptor (which you can buy from the souvenir shops)
If you stay in Valetta, it is a top pick. Very close to the main sightseeings. Quiet and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful concerning every question or suggestion you may need.

BrazilTV was not working properly (no channels at all), There were lots of ants coming up behind the bath door even though the room was cleaned every day. No lift in the building and my room was in the third floor, so I had a big piece of luggage to carry it on upstairs. There is no minibar and coffee machine in the room and in my view, those are a “must have” in the room. As I stayed there for 6 days, it would be nice to have those facilities in the room to store some cold water, fruits and sandwiches and have coffee. Before my arrival, there was a problem with my payment via Booking, therefore they asked me to drop by in a hotel nearby Casa Domenico to perform the payment and because of that they did not give me the acess code of the building/room even though they knew that I was coming by foot from the bus terminal with a big piece of luggage. It was not nice to walk all the way back to pay and then have the code to access the building. The cost of the stay is high comparable to the offering, you will pay for the location in Valletta.
The location in centre of Valletta is great, however is 20min walking from the bus terminal (if you come by bus from the airport with big piece of luggage, keep it in mind). The room and the shower are comfortable. Staff are helpful.

United KingdomThe hairdryer didn't work at all because it only had a two pin plug and so i could only plug it into the bathroom where there wasn't enough power to work it. The bathroom door was very stiff to open and close. The air conditioner took a while to decide to work. Eventually we managed to make it work but I think some instructions would be helpful.
A clean, airy and modern feeling apartment. Comfortable bed and great shower. A little far from the town centre but not a bad walk.

PortugalThey changed us to a different location from what we booked. Apartment with a strong damp smell, AC/dehumidifier didn't help. Awful and uncomfortable bed/mattress.
