Prime location The ultimate location in Valleta, with walking distance from all the best sites. Excellent breakfast... The only problem is that it takes a little bit too much time

However we had asked the Italian receptionist if we can be informed if the room with the jacuzzi can be given to us IF available which he obliged so we changed our room to suite 7. I'm sorry but not impressed. The highlight for us was obviously the jacuzzi, we used it like 4 times in one day as we really enjoyed the warmth and the views but the bed wasn't that comfortable, the shower looked bare and not as nice as the previous room, I think the paint on the toilet seat was chipped, the way the shower is..near the stairs wasn't good as I hit my head by mistake and not enough space to put shower gels etc etc Also, I know moat probably this was the style of the room but it looked like it wasn't finished..if you know what I mean, like the ceiling wasn't painted, lots of stuff looked chipped, I could see areas weren't done properly and the worst thing is that we barely slept as it was windy that day, fair enough but the door on the terrace where the cushions were kept kept knocking and making noises, both of us tried to close it with the latch but it kept opening with the wind so...we barely slept..hope it can be fixed!!! Also for breakfast, I expected much better considering the money we paid and the reputation of the hotel. We both ordered the fried eggs and bacon etc and it just looked plain and we were in the mood for a full breakfast Apart from that, all the staff was amazing, all super professional especially the Italian receptionist that checked us in, he made us laugh couple of times, he is an asset to this hotel

Me and my boyfriend came just for 2 nights as we were actually visiting family but we wanted some time alone. We originally had suite 5 which was AMAZING, so comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and clean, the shower was amazing, the shower gels and lotion smelled so good, the piano was lovely as we played it. ( I know how to play piano) The bed was super comfortable and we had the best night honestly...

While the hotel presents quite well in the photos, the reality is that it is a bit shopworn...albeit very clean with terrific daily cleaning service. Mattress and pillows were not particularly comfortable--just ok. We were in the Old Theater Suite (#9)--not quite a suite as it's one large room with an entry vestibule that doubles as a closet (a little cumbersome). The bathroom that looks to be "interesting" in the photos is anything but...the room is split down the middle making the sink area quite narrow and near impossible to simply wash your face as you are so close to the mirror that serves as a wall between the shower room and the space with the toilet. The shower is however terrific! The all black space is also not particularly appealing as it is both dark as well as looks less than tidy after one use. Nevertheless, the hotel is charming, well situated, and with a most accommodating staff. Would we stay there again? Not sure, but perhaps a different room.... although, the small balcony facing the Church and the sounds of chants coming from the daily services were a definite plus.

Breakfast, staff, location all great (although some staff did not seem to have familiarity with much beyond the restaurants on the street).

We stayed for a week and everything was wonderful

A luxurious experience blending tradition with slick contemporary lines at its finest. The facilities were excellent and the rooms clearly had a lot of thought put in when the owners renovated the property. Our room had a fabulous terrace with jacuzzi overlooking the basilica, which was wonderful to enjoy a continental breakfast and coffee. Central location close to everything in Valletta. Best of all were the staff - attentive, genuine and very patient - who really made us feel welcome and looked after, they are the main reason I would recommend a stay at Casa Ellul!

Having a room with windows into the courtyard meant sometimes we felt overlooked and lacking in natural light, but this was all part of the uniqueness of the building itself.

I was looking for something a bit different when I booked Casa Ellul and it didn't disappoint. We loved the room, the quirkiness of the building and the great location in the heart of Valetta. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was superb.

There was a feast on the night we stayed there (we didn't check this in advance)so there was a lot of noise until around 4 am however I don't think there was anything the house could do - this was an external factor.

This place expresses luxury and comfort. It is also very beautiful with top-notch facilities. The staff are very well mannered and do their best to assist and help.

As the staff is quite limited (maximum people we saw working at the same time were 2), sometimes we had to wait some minutes to get our requests answered (check in, check out, general info or during breakfast), but never reached the level of an unpleasant situation. For us, the main weak point was the attention to details in our bedroom, mainly in the external are were there is the hot tub. Knowing the price of the room and the tag of "luxury hotel" from my perspective it is missing more attention to the furniture, plants and decoration.
