Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDidn't get to spend time enough here, but what I saw and the communication I had with the hotel, were simply top class. The attention to details in the room was amazing, it was so nice in all details. Had to leave early so missed the breakfast, but the night before the hotel owner had pointed us to the perfect place for dinner: If you only have one night, that's the place to go. If I ever were to return to Malta, I would not hesitate to stay at Julina again, super nice experience.

ItalyDespite the property's dated appearance, it was evidently well-maintained and cared for, which is somewhat expected in Malta.
My stay at the property was simply perfect. Every detail was carefully curated, from the cozy atmosphere to the typical Maltese style that emanated from every corner. The impeccable cleanliness made my stay even more enjoyable, while the extraordinarily kind staff made every moment memorable. The delicious food and well-appointed amenities made the experience even more special. In summary, a comfortable, welcoming, and authentically Maltese stay that I can't wait to repeat.

GermanyThis was really an exciting experience. We felt like at home thanks to charming Carmen who did not only do everything to feel us welcome but also supplied with a lot of information and tipps where to go and what to do. The interior design is very special and every detail chosen carefully from the owner herself who loves art and culture. A wonderful place. You will not be disappointed.

GermanyJulina Boutique Living is a beautiful charming boutique hotel in the heart of Malta. Carmen and her husband are exceptional hosts. They made us feel very comfortable and their attention to detail is second to none. They gave us the most comfortable stay during a personal difficult time. We have nothing but praise during our stay.

United KingdomNothing! No negatives at all. Everything was as described and expected, in fact in was better.
Wow! What a gem to find. Carmen & Chris were the very best hosts you could ask for. So friendly and helpful and hospitable. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are so nicely done. Everything was thought of. There is nothing we can say about this hotel that is negative. The eggs for breakfast were also the best we have ever had! You will not regret staying here. The location is nice and central to just about everywhere in Malta. Everything is easily reachable.

United KingdomI did not get to stay more days at the hotel and spend more time with Carmen. But for sure, when I am back in Malta, I will be staying at Julina Boutique Living again.
Carmen and Chris are both very warm and welcoming, they made me feel like I was staying with family instead of staying at their hotel. The hotel and decor are beautiful. I loved my hotel room which was nice and spacious and I enjoyed the room's creative touch which made me feel like I was in a boutique hotel. The room was clean and had everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable.

A very authentic and romantic accommodation! The courtyard is very idyllic and the hall is prestigious. The owners are happy to share their best tips of the island. The village has nice shops and a beautiful dome!

MaltaNothing to complain about at all here.
Very comfortable small hotel near everything in Mosta. Our room was very chic, and everything was clean and working well. Hosts are lovely, staff all helpful and friendly. It's a lovely restored building with central courtyard, so feels like an authentic Maltese stone house. Great breakfast, relaxed atmosphere and nice to have fresh water in the room in addition to kettle and coffee/tea.

Carmen, Chris and the rest of the staff have made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The hotel itself is beautifullly renovated and feels luxurious and cosy. Location is perfect, just a few steps away from Mosta's rotonda and à 5mn drive from Mdina and Rabat. The breakfast is amazing : freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, cheese ham, cereal, yogurt, cake, toast with lots of different flavours of jam or honey/nutella... A great place, excellent value for money!!!
