Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing!
Location was good - in the main square of Mellieha with some restaurants and pubs at the front door and others not far away. The beach is down a steep hill and around a 20 minute walk, although you can get a bus back up easily enough. The staff were superb - just the right amount of hands off/helpfulness you would want. Hotel facilities were great, especially the indoor pool and steam room. Both pools are quite shallow, so suitable for kids. Breakfast was excellent - generous and great quality.

Everything! A stunning hotel with very tasteful decor in a great location. The Staff were so friendly nothing was too much and we came away feeling like we’d made some great friends. The breakfast was amazing and a fantastic start to the day. The beds were so comfortable we didn’t want to get out of them, consequently we were always late for breakfast! Being a small hotel with only 12 rooms means that you get a really personal service. The roof top pool was always quiet and a great place to end the day. The restaurant food was excellent compliments to the chef. The spa facilities were first class a very relaxing place to be and I thoroughly recommend the reflexology treatment. All in all I couldn’t fault our stay and as a result we are going to book again next year.

BelgiumDifficult to say something because this hotel is very nice. One small comment is the water of the swimming pool on the top roof is cold (beginning of May).
The service is perfect and personal is friendly. The design of the hotel is amazing (Art Deco/ pop art); the breakfast is huge and delicious (and no buffet but bring at tabel). The Spa and swimming pool are very nice. This hotel is a very good place to become relaxed.

The location is lovely and the hotel itself is superb! Such a beautiful modern pop design with high attention to detail! I loved how lovely the staff was and they were so helpful. My boyfriend has his birthday and I asked the staff to leave a note somewhere in the room saying “happy Birthday”… They went the extra mile, bought him a December birthday card and displayed it on the bed. The indoor pool was so beautiful and the steam room was fantastic. Zara, the house keeper did a fantastic job and to top it all up she has such a sweet personality! I will most definitely visit again!

United Kingdomnothing major but we couldn’t work out how to turn the digital light switches off at night so you aren’t in complete darkness. otherwise lovely stay in a lovely hotel.
rooms were spacious and very modern but also tastefully decorated. nice bathrooms. nice big comfy beds. indoor pool area was very nice and had a calming atmosphere. breakfast was fantastic. eggs Benedict was sensational and they also provide a very generous 3 tier continental breakfast with breads, cheese, ham, croissants, blueberry cake, chocolate cake and other treats. they do not charge for coffees or extra coffees at breakfast. nice having it sitting outside too as the hotel is in a lovely square beside the church. we had dinner in the hotel restaurant in our last night. menu had many tempting options and a nice wine list. It’s on the more expensive side of the spectrum but still would go again. rooms were cleaned to a high standard and in a timely fashion. staff were very nice and attentive. lady at breakfast is so nice and remembered our coffee orders every morning which was a nice touch.

United KingdomMy husband and I stayed at The Lure from 15th to 22nd October. I only have good words about this hotel. We arrived late on the Friday and even though the kitchen was about to close the staff made us dinner and altered a dish to make it vegetarian friendly. The room was large, nicely decorated and clean, nice little balcony. All staff adhered to the covid rules and the cleaners did an exceptional job every day. They have a roof top pool with lovely views and its soo peaceful. They also have an indoor pool again this was really nice and the area was really clean. Breakfast was included in our price and it was again very exceptional with plenty of choice for vegan and vegetarian diets. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff and they always responded via phone or WhatsApp if needed. The hotel is in a lovely location with a lovely church and some nice sites nearby. We hired a car as this is the best way to get around and see as much as you want. Thank you Lure for a great holiday and a beautiful hotel.

United KingdomThe bar area upstairs wasn’t finished so that will be a very nice addition.
The lure hotel was exceptional, fantastic service, luxurious decor and exclusive feel. We made use of the top floor pool, loved the view and it was open 24/7 so always a place to go to take in the views. Ate dinner in the hotel one night and would say it was one of the top 3 hotels in the area, exquisite food and service.

United KingdomNothing at all.
Everything! The detailing, the furniture, the 3 tier breakfast, friendly and efficient service. The bed is super comfy, the shower had settings (rainfall/ mist etc..) There is so much details in the design of this hotel. The staff are super friendly and they are very keen to help you around and advice you where to go visiting Malta. The hotel is a very short walk to the Main Street where you will find more restaurants to choose from. We had a meal at the restaurant in the hotel and that was great too. Please try their fresh oysters! Highly recommend this little gem!
