How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was on a very good level. Jean Paul is a great host, helpful and very nice! The location ia great as well. The apartment has everything you need.

Very clean and modern apartment, great location as apartment is located just besides lower baraka gardens and 5 min from the main street in a quiet residential area, a mini market located at a minute walk. Host is very prompt in responding and always available for any help if required.

Great location, aside from the main hustle, yet a few steps away from the main streets. Great base to trip around Malta. Excellent communication with the owner.

That it took a long time for hot water…It even caused the fuse to blow out twice & when we showered it was literally 5 mins before the water got cold. when you walked into the room the space from the couch & fridge was really tight to pass… perhaps new pillows
The location was super.. Jean Paul was quick to reply. He also had snacks,water& coffee handy..The kitchen had everything…. It was located on a quite dead end street.

As others have said, the neighbour across the way listens to music or the TV very loud - but always turned it off before we were going to bed so it wasn't an issue. New pillows wouldn't go amiss :)
The welcome drinks and snacks were great! The apartment looked exactly like the photos, everything was comfortable. Location was great - there is a small point to swim about a 3 minute walk away, and it was outside centre enough to feel more "local" but only a 15 minute walk from the bus station. Loved the balcony and sitting having a morning coffee there. Jean Paul was checking in by messages, which was nice and not intrusive.

Only we were close to the park and the noise of the cannon were disturbing. Apart of that all good.
Everything was good. The house is very beautiful and clean. We loved it!

We had a wonderful stay here! Perfect location for exploring the town, a comfortable apartment with everything we needed. Jean Paul was a great host, very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a great base to explore Valletta.

The perfect apartment! Very good position, everything is at walking distance; extremely clean, beds comfortable, kitchen fully equipped, check in and out very easy. The apartment is very cozy and you feel at home right away thanks to Jean Paul , who is ready to help you in anything you need. Our stayed in Jean Paul's house went down in a very pleasant way. We also enjoyed very much eating at his restaurant, which is close home

Great appartment located in the center of Valletta, spacious appartment, well equipped kitchen and great host. In any case, also recommend to visit the restaurant of the host, delicious food, drinks and super nice staff. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitly come back.

The apartment location was perfect, close to the touristic attractions. The host was nice and helpful, made our stay very pleasant. The kitchen is well equipped, the WiFi fast. I recommend that you eat a pizza at San Paolo Naufrago, the host's restaurant. Big and delicious! 🍕

All was good, no complaints.
Amazing location, 3 min walk from the centre of Valletta. The flat was clean, the shower works well, you have everything you need in the kitchen (clean, easy to operate microwave, kettle, coffee machine, etc.) The facilities are basic, but really good value for the price. And the owner's pizza restaurant has the best pizza ever. Loved it!!!! There is a hilarious dude living across the street who plays loud 70-s, 80-s, 90-s music after 3PM. But he is very considerate of his neighbours and always stops his DJ sessions at 6:30 PM. Otherwise the place is quiet. A piece of advice: research and book your restaurants in advance! Restaurants in Valletta are amazing but tiny, and you might struggle to find a place to eat if you don't plan ahead, even in the off season! But they are certainly worth the effort.

Beautiful appartment in an old house with a traditional Maltesian balcony. It was lovely that Jean Paul provided us with a welcome package of some snacks and drinks. He was very helpful and responded quickly. No problems at all. So I can highly recommend it!

The neighbour across the street played very loud music in the early evenings which we didn’t mind and found quite entertaining but this may bother some people.
Such a treat in a beautiful city - the apartment is perfect sized for two and has everything needed - is also much bigger than the photos! Great aircon, WiFi etc and we loved having breakfast in the big window! Jean Paul was very helpful and accommodating for our check in and out times and gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and swimming spots.

On Saturday night there were either fireworks or cannon shots late in the evening, that disturbed sleep a bit. The sound isolation could be better.
The apartment was easy to access, spacious, with air conditioning. We enjoyed the tea that is availabe and the host brought some welcome snacks.
