Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandI stayed in room 27 for three nights. The bathtub was too slippery and I fell while taking a bath. After that, even if I was very careful, it was still slippery under my feet, which felt very dangerous, especially for us elderly people. Suggestions for improvement.

This hotel is a gem, set in a quiet side street , but within easy reach of all Valletta’s sights. It is immaculately maintained, and our room was very comfortable and clean. Guests have a choice of individually prepared breakfasts, as well as the usual buffet options. But the best aspect of the Palais Le Brun relates to the staff. Without exception they were welcoming, kind and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

United KingdomThe room was a little small. Also dark, with a window looking onto an interior courtyard area. However, it was big enough. It did have plenty of storage space for 5 days, also a desk and a chair, so sufficient.
Friendly and helpful staff In the quiet area of Valletta, yet still close to many restaurants Very tasty and well presented breakfast Comfortable room, Great shower in the bathroom. Relaxing decor Pool on the roof looked appealing (although too cold in April to swim)

United KingdomStaff were very friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to some great tourist areas/lovely parts of the city to explore, coffee spots and restaurants. Good variety for breakfast, the sweet French toast was a highlight. Safe storage of bags for when we checked out but we’re still exploring the city. The rooftop area was very pleasant for a read and relax

United KingdomThe gym equipment was a bit tired, it was difficult to adjust settings, but there was a good range of equipment.
Brilliant location, central enough, but also quite quiet. Very generous and tasty breakfasts, and friendly helpful staff. Loved the rooftop pool and sun loungers, a real bonus in the city centre.

United KingdomNice rustic hotel, is clean and quiet. Located just 10 minutes walk from Valletta bus terminal, is easy to reach. The hotel room is spacious, clean and modern. The hotel provides towels for the roof top swimming pool. The breakfast buffet is small but sufficient, there’s as well the à la carte menu with classic and local options. The last evening of our stay we had an electric problem in the room which was solved after 30 minutes by a maintenance guy. Big thanks to Chris (maintenance guy) which came late at night to sort the problem out, thank you Chris, we really appreciate it! highly recommended.

PolandThe double bed was in fact 2 single beds connected with sides.
Cosy hotel in center of Valletta. Outstanding and extremely helpful and polite personel - although we have arrived earlier than expected, our room was ready to check in. Delicious breakfast - warm dishes from Menu. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. I would definitely book this hotel room again in case of our next travel to Malta.

United KingdomWe visited at the end of March when temperatures were on average 20-25 degrees celsius. That being said there was no air conditioning available in the room. The staff said only heating is provided this time of year. It made sleeping very uncomfortable as the room was hot. We opened the windows which helped but got many mosquito bites throughout the night. It would be helpful to have the option to turn on the air conditioner or provide a fan for guests.
Palais le Brun was an amazing hotel to stay at. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast provided was varied and tasty. The location is very accessible and close to everything in the main city. The room was also very good having provided a large bed, bathroom, desk, and wardrobe. The staff cleaned the room well everyday and provided fresh water upon request. We were even greeted with balloons, a birthday card, and complimentary drinks at their sister hotel Gomerino which was an excellent touch. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this hotel!

IrelandThe pillows were uncomfortable. The A/C was not working - but this could have been a user issue. It would have been lovely if the rooftop pool was heated.
When we arrived we were lucky enough to have had our room upgraded - it was the perfect start to our holiday and the room was absolutely gorgeous. The building itself is historical, and beautiful to explore. The location is close to everything you need in Valletta but also close enough to a road that is not just pedestrian friendly - making it easy to get cabs. The staff was extremely friendly.

IrelandThe room was a little dark with poor natural light. Storage was inadequate in the room and in the bathroom....just not enough clear surfaces to lay out ones items. However, extra storage was provided when requested. The breakfast room is a little small for the number of guests. Consequently, the very pleasant, efficient staff are inclined to gently hurry you along, for example, coming to take your order immediately you sit and removing used dishes too promptly. Hotel Management could consider making use of the adjacent gym area as an additional breakfast seating area as I never saw it in use. The street where the hotel is located is narrow...cars park on the pavement and one is obliged, at times, due to nearby construction, to walk on the road surface...so one needs to be careful !
The room was beautifully fitted out with very good quality furniture and a magnificent marble floor. The Reception staff were extremely attentive. We needed extra hangers and a chair and these were delivered to the room promptly. The staff were excellent throughout the hotel....everybody greeted you with a smile! Breakfast was excellent and the staff, who were smartly dressed, were thoroughly focused on the guests. The location of the hotel is excellent close to all the tourist attractions. We would happily stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
