Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceOur apartment was on the 4th floor and reachable by stairs only, no elevator available. The bathroom, although, big, modern and clean, is outside the apartment, still next to it. No water basin and water available inside the apartment, so you need to go to the bathroom.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment in an excellent location at the center of Valletta! Clean, quiet, nicely decorated, with huge beds, located in a typical central building, 5-10 minutes on foot from everything in Valletta.

GermanyI was not aware that the bathroom was across the floor which meant that every now and then you'd meet someone on the way there. However, it was clean and tidy. Since the doors are glass doors, you'd see the light whenever someone switched in on outside the room, which was not that big of an issue for us.
Jesmond was a great host! Very friendly, eager to help and gave us some good tips for our stay. The location is excellent -right in the heart of Valletta in short walking distance to all the main sights, the ferry to Gozo/Three Cities etc. The room was clean and very spatious with two big beds, it had a kettle, small frigde, AC and a toaster.

AustraliaWalls are quite thin, glass door, you can hear things in rooms beside. Room on 4th floor (70 steps), can be issue for some people. Not sure why Booking.com refers to it as the "Bed and Breakfast", I don't think this place does not intend to offer breakfast to any of the tenants.
Location within Valetta is very good. Host is a very kind and informative person.

Czech RepublicThere is another room for another guests. We were lucky and the others quests were relatively quiet, so it was a nice week, but maybe, if you will have a bad luck to some loudy guests, it will not be so pleasant (because it is not very soundproof).
Fantastic locality, in the city centre of Valleta. Friendly owner Jesmond, he was ready to help us, for example he prepared an adapter for the plug-in. There is a fridge, balcony, airconditioning = everything you need.

United Arab EmiratesThe apartment is on the 4th floor and for someone who had a heavy luggage, I struggled a little bit. But other than that, all is good.
Close to the center with loads of restaurants, coffee shops and mini groceries.

SwitzerlandThe apartment is on 4th floor with no elevator/lift. You might want to re-consider if you are carrying heavy luggage with you. Apart from this, we did not find anything to dislike about this apartment.
The owner was super friendly and helpful. He provided all the updates through whatsapp prior to arriving at the apartment. He lives in the same building and readily available if you need anything. The location of the apartment is excellent, right in the city centre! The room was quite big and spacious with 2 double bids and a big wardrobe. It had all the amenities you expect in an apartment. We had our private bathroom which spacious and clean. Overall a wonderful place to stay!

SerbiaWe missed out the detail of the apartment being on the 4th floor in a building with no elevator, which was a tiny bit inconvenient, but we managed.
The location of the apartment is superb. The place was spacious and it had all amenities listed, which we truly appreciated.

NetherlandsThe only thing we did not really like was going up the stairs to get to our room. It is located in the 4th floor and there is no elevator. Valletta can be quite hilly and when you get back to the apartment you have to do another climbing. But we got used to it during our last days. Going to bus stops is usually 12-15 minutes walk but we saw a lot of instagrammable locations on the way so we did not really feel like we were walking for so long.
You can find the place within the center of Valletta and we were able to visit all the historical/tourist attractions just by walking. The place was also close to restaurants and supermarkets so you won’t worry about getting hungry. Our room has all the amenities we needed for this trip and especially having an airconditioning was really helpful during summer (sometimes we just wanted to stay in the apartment because it is cold than outside). There were also adapter plugs provided so we did not have to buy them to charge our gadgets. I like how spacious the place is and we even got two king sized beds for two people.

RomaniaWe didn’t know there would be other people in the room next door ( after entering the blue door from the 4th floor, there were multiple doors, one was our room, one was our private bathroom and there were 2 other rooms, in which one other people stayed ). It wasn’t a problem, but we weren’t aware of this the first night and we heard noises and wasn’t sure what is happening.
The location was perfect, about 3-4 minutes and you reach the Grandmaster Palace

LithuaniaIt surely can't be changed, but it's the 4th floor, no elevator. Not a problem to us, but if you have any issues, it may be. As an afterthought, many streets of Valletta are not so different. :)

United KingdomI was very happy with the location. Anyone booking needs to be aware that the accommodation is on the 4th floor and the private bathroom is accessed via a communal corridor. This is not a criticism, just something that needs to be highlighted

NetherlandsEverything was perfect except for the light that goes on at night in the hallway when people get to the apartment (lights up the room as the doors are glass).
Perfect location, very close to the city centre, but just far enough as to not have too much noise at night. Also very close to a little supermarket and the sea! Closest restaurants are only a few 100m :) The host is very friendly and welcomed us, showed us around and showed us some of the highlights. The room was way bigger than expected and there was coffee and water. The bathroom was large too, and everything was tidy.
