How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Not a busy street but a few trucks/deliveries first thing. Needs some soft furnishings/artwork. Balcony to easy to access as sofa bed is right next to the window and the doors didn't appear to lock, would need to warn and watch children.
Virtually new, clean, spacious, modern bathroom and rooms, good lift size for luggage and people, great location, seperate luggage store, secure but discrete building entrance, helpful staff. All conveniences needed. Orderly, organised, air conditioning etc.

At the time of booking we didn't realise there was no balcony or view (windows opened onto a space between buildings) so you need to check carefully when choosing apartments. Kitchen linen was scarce-only 1 tea towel for a whole week, and no table cloth or place mats. .
Apartment was very clean. Bed is comfortable and at night it was mostly quiet. Position is good for restaurants and there is a lot of public transport nearby.

A coffee machine would have been great.
Clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a large terrace offering great views. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

Overall our stay at the apartment was excellent. It was clean, in a convenient location and fully equipped. Also great value for money. And the host was really accommodating and helpful!

You will only fall in love with the property, there’s nothing there not to like!
I absolutely loved everything about the property! The Location is very convenient and is very close to Sliema! It’s a beautiful property! The place had everything a person needs and it was very clean and neat! Thank you Julian for being so hospitable!

No view. Lack of natural light, windows open into a narrow ventilation shaft. Lack of outdoor area.

Apartment Elise is spacious, comfortable, equipped with air conditioning. A very good place to explore Malta. Bus stops and shops nearby. Easy contact with the owner, I recommend Maria from Poland

There was no natural light from windows. This was not what we expected from the pics. Does not really matter as the views would only have been a street.
Apartment had a sofa bed as well as bedroom. Quite spacious. Good location for Sliema. On several bus routes. Hosts were quick to deliver extra cups that we asked for.

Despite the online nature of the arrangements, I still felt incredibly welcomed by the team at Elise Apartments. Their attentive communication and genuine hospitality made me feel like a valued guest from the moment I booked. It's impressive how they managed to create such a warm and inviting atmosphere even through digital interactions.
What I loved most about the property was its unbeatable location. Within a mere 5-minute walk, I could explore the nearby attractions with ease. The sofa in the living room is not too comfortable to sleep on it. There is nothing cozy in the apartment. For me it's important to feel like home but I think it's just the way they live in Malta, they have cold marble floors. And the chairs were not comfortable. It wasn't cozy to spend time in the apartment.
The owners are very kind. It was easy to reach them.

The bathroom door could close easier and a big coffee cups would make a big difference 🤣
Great location, great communication with the owner. All you need if you look for a cheap place to stay and good enough if you aren't too fussy but still want to have a nice place.

The couch from the living room isn't exactly confortable to sleep on.
I liked the area where the apartment is placed. Really easy to access public transport and supermarkets. The apartment was clean,and just as in the description.

A bit of aromating smell I am not used to.
I really appreciate very nice communication - very quick, precise and very polite. Although the apartment is on very small and not very neat street, the entrance of the building is new and very nice, you feel safe. The apartment was very clean. The only problem was a bit of humidity and very cold (but it is in every place in Malta onFebruary). AC was heating well though. There were enough towels and blankets - even those very warm (which is not very common in Malta). The bed was very comfortable - probably the best I have ever had during my travels. You will not have beautiful view from your balcony, but on the other hand - it is good location for going both to Sliema and Valletta, you have a grocery shop at the corner and still you can experience silence - out of traffic or party rush.

There was only one large cup and three small ones. Neighbors started noisy repairs at 7:30 in the morning.
We were satisfied with the apartments. There is everything you need, there was even water and spices. Close location to shops, bus stops, promenade
