Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe shower didn’t work properly. Or at least WE found it difficult to use. The pressure seems to be very weak. It was advertised as having an ironing board and toiletries. There was an iron but no board. There was no shampoo. Only 2 small bars of soap were provided. However, the situation was almost immediately remedied once I had related this to Emilija.

United KingdomSteep climb up many stairs to the apartment - lift not functioning. Would be challenging for those with fitness issues. Roof terrace was nice bout would benefit from some shade. Cushions or coverings for loungers could be better.
Nice position Nice views Facilities good

United KingdomThe stairs. Please invest in getting the lift fixed. Pigeon droppings need to be cleaned off the balcony before each stay. Balcony table and chairs need to be renewed and stored inside otherwise they are unusable covered in Pigeon droppings. Find somewhere to store the spare bedding other than in the bedroom chest of drawers which are then not available to use. Check the hair dryer, it doesn't work. Supply a draining board at sink. More shelves needed in bathroom as literally nowhere to put anything except on the floor.
Location was brilliant. So close to everything Valetta had to offer. Very clean. View was amazing. Quiet at night but only a stroll from the night life.

United KingdomThe shower was almost useless. Minimal water pressure and minimal hot water supply. A terrible sewage smell in the bathroom every morning. The apartment is above a bar which can be noisy when it is open, but it was only open late on one evening of our stay.
Good location, lots of light, comfortable and spacious, liked the balconies.

SlovakiaVery small bathroom, water was splashing from the kitchen tap, hence unable to wash dishes. It was chilly in the apartment and we had to use aircondition to warm up but this was not sufficient. There was loud music coming from the bar below the apartment until 2am on Saturday, which was not owners fault but still it was annoying.
great location, directly in city center, with possibility to park in January on the street. nice size apartment with kitchen and living room.

IrelandThe stairs is not for anyone with any sort of mobility or balance issues. It’s expected that since it’s an old building the stone steps on the stairs are worn due to use and age. No proper place to put luggage in the bedroom. It would be better if there were strong shelving or hangers put on the wall as whats there keeps falling over.
Location was great. Views from the property were beautiful. Very clean. Very old quirky building on a quaint street within the old walls of the city. Near the main bus terminal. Lots of bars n restaurants in the area.

United KingdomAs with many traditional properties, care is needed ascending and descending the stone stairs which are quite worn on the lower floors.

United KingdomThere could have been blinds on the window of the living room for privacy. Also it mentioned a city view on the particulars, but there was none. The pressure from the tap in the kitchen area was very weak.
The location was perfect. The apartment was clean and comfortable.

AustraliaThere wasn't anything we didn't like.
We stayed 4 nights in our 1st floor apartment at the end of October 2023. The location in Valletta is perfect for getting anywhere you want to go in Malta - it's only a short walk in any direction to ferries and the main bus terminal. The neighbourhood is generally very quiet (except for the bar next door, which has VERY loud music until around 11pm on 2 of the nights we were there). There's a convenience store right across the road open most days from 7am to 10am and it's only a very short walk to all the shops in Valletta's Republika Street. The apartment is very modern, comfortable, roomy, bright and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable; there's aircon in both the living room and the bedroom. The bathroom is small but totally adequate. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need, including a good sized fridge and plenty of crockery, cutlery & glasses. There's lots of information provided to explain how things work etc. There's a lift in the building but unfortunately, it's not working at present and the stairs are narrow and worn. We had large suitcases, so were glad we only had to navigate them to the first floor. It was disappointing not to have the lift, but we still had a wonderful stay. We'd book here again and recommend it to others.

GreeceI would like some olive oil and salt at the kitchen, which are considered to be tha basic for a quick lunch or breakfast. Also a better mat would be a plus.
Perfect location. It was a beautiful apt,,beautiful decorated. There was a smell of humidity at the stairs ,but fortunately not into the house, but this is a huge problem generally in Malta.I

United KingdomNeed to be fit to cope with 4 flights of stone steps.
Lovely location overlooking the harbour and Sliema , opposite gardens and close to town - 5 mins flat easy walk to town. V quiet neighbourhood. Cool stone apartment in hot weather and fabulous views from roof garden. Very attentive agent when we had question about the air con and water system. She was so very helpful and also booked taxis. Highly recommend. We will definitely return if we can find availability for this sort after property again.

SpainThe bed was uncomfortable (way too hard) and the pillows just impossible (towering high). Shower was complicated to set on the right temperature, plus ants appeared in my suitcase after the first night. The lift was not yet functional and the staircase leading to the apartment was very steep and very old (deep in the centre) which is quite challenging when you climb up especially with a heavy suitcase.
Location. It was superb! Incredible views. The apartment itself was very cozy, newly equipped, very functional.

AustraliaPlease get a light over the sink, it was really really dark to wash the dishes. We ate in but had to move the microwave over to the other side of the room to use a power point. There were power points but the leads were glued in? This needs looking into. Small fix but there was a big opening in the balcony door in the bedroom. These are double glazed but with an opening like the one we had all that effort to reduce outside noise gets wasted. The Stable Pub below the suites on the ground floor was extremely loud on one night and perhaps more nights but for being closed over the weekend due to public holidays? In saying this it did stop at 11pm. Please take this into consideration and ask when booking. Its very hard to satisfy all needs I know. Overall these are minor issues so still consider staying but cautions re these topics.
The location of the Valletta Suites is superb. It sits on the North West corner of the old town with lovely access to a park that over looks Sliema. Our apartment was #2 on the 2nd floor with #3 above us and then the penthouse at the very top. Our apartment manager, Emilija was amazing. She went over and above to help us during our week stay. We had some small issues and these were rectified within a very short time to our complete satisfaction. Bed/bathroom/aircon/couch all were very good. All the attractions of the old town were at our doorstep. It took a 3 minute walk and you were right in the midst of food and bars.

United KingdomThe magnificent view obviously comes from being top floor however without a lift in service it was a bit of a climb a few times a day. There is a lift but we were informed that it is not in use. A shame as it would be helpful but it would not put me off going again. One other issue which I appreciate is a personal preference but the pillows on the bed were far too hard for our liking but again not a deal breaker.
The quality of the decor was great. The terrace was amazing and the views were fantastic. A modern stylish accommodation in a great area. Instructions for collecting key (self service on site) with instructions was faultless. Communication before and during stay was excellent and of course very helpful.

FinlandThe bathroom is a bit small. When we were around the elevator was not working - just a reminder to those who have difficulty using stairs. There's a pub right next door, and it can be a bit noisy at times, but it always closed by midnight during our stay.
Superb location, close to all the major attractions in Valletta. Main bus station with connections to the airport less than 10 minutes' walk away. A corner shop just across the road is handy for groceries. The apartment is nicely decorated and has all the necessary amenities for a self-catered stay. Views from our balcony were great! Staff were very pleasant and answered our enquiries quickly.

United KingdomThe lift needs to be fixed. I am a 69yo gentleman and had major trouble carrying my suitcase up 4 floors. I was advised of this before but the winding staircase made matters worse. Also, a proper cooking plate would have made things better (the one in the apartment didn't work).
Great location. Perfect for visiting the major attractions of Valletta. The roof terrace was STUNNING!! Almost 360 degree view of surrounding area.
