Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The place is a paradise on earth for nature lovers. My absolute favorite on the island. Iwe just loved the peace, the evening sunsets, the birds, little geckos, crabs around. The room (cabin) is absolutely wonderful with open air shower, the owners and the staff are wonderful. The place is just perfect.

FranceWithout hesitation, it was the best hotel that we've ever experienced! The facility is located in an amazing setting (you can see the Morne Brabant, the ocean...) ; the room (African one) was awesome : very comfortable and spacious ; the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We tried once the Maurician dinner prepared by a staff member. It was really delicious and the portions were generous. It's possible to borrow a canoe to explore the surrounding area (we enjoyed a lot!). The villa offers other activities and services such as breakfast, yoga classes, massages... If you go to Mauricius, you definitely must stay at this place !

GermanyWe had a very relaxing stay in this charming, quaint place with a gorgeous view of Le Morne mountain. The host was very kind, helpful and commited to make sure we had an unfogetable time. She is a certified yoga teacher and there's no better way to start the day than with an early Yoga Session in a beautiful garden, right next to the ocean and hearing just singing birds around you. We wish we would have stayed longer at this wonderful place!

MauritiusWhen we first stumbled upon this accommodation, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Our hosts, Annick and Jean-Pierre, are the most thoughtful, gracious hosts (even when we called Annick for the pad key number which she had already sent us - twice!). They provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around the place. The spot is absolutely magic, with a view to die for overlooking not only the lagoon but also a UNESCO site mountain. It is just perfect! The place is compact and contains everything one needs. The bed is super comfortable, the outside shower is something one must not miss, and the quaint veranda overlooking the lagoon is excellent. I know I am repeating myself, but the location is just incredible - you literally hear the waves licking against the side of the room at night and wake up with a lagoon literally at your feet. Annick had excellent restaurant recommendations and for the overall area, and was of great help. Thanks Annick and Jean-Pierre for opening the doors of Harmonie to us. We had a wonderful weekend and will be back for sure (we will order some extra sun next time)

United KingdomI hadn’t realised you couldn’t swim in the inlet directly from the property- the water is muddy and far too shallow to swim. So you either have to paddle out in the kayak or drive to the beach. There is a small pool for cooling off though.
It was a quiet idyllic refuge, surrounded by the inlet water with lots of areas to relax outside by the pool, in the hammock or around the barbecue, or under cover in the indoor and outdoor living areas. There are good facilities for self catering. A lovely place to unwind. The hosts, Jean-Pierre and family, are very welcoming and friendly.

Austriathe kitchen could use a big cleaning. we had the pushmere room, which is the only room with no seaview and no own terrace.
really nice garden and house, with the perfect view to the mountain Le Morne. The garden is really great. The check in was easy and the communication with the hosts was also very easy. you have to notice that you share the kitchen and the other rooms of the house with other people, but it was nice for us and you have enough space. you need a car to get around.

Unique genius loci. Birds singing in the garden, amazing views, sunsets over Le Morne. You can see the attention to detail of the owners in the rooms and outside. You can discover various artworks in the place. Thanks to Anna and Jean Pierre for allowing us to drop off our things early in the morning upon arrival and for the tips, advice and help with the convenient car rental.

United KingdomThe property is in need of refurbishment however that is somewhat reflected in the price. The cleaning standards are low.

United KingdomNo email received regarding check in instructions so I sent a WhatsApp to the owner's wife saying I would come early but didn't need the room, just happy to sit in the garden. I was then reprimanded by her husband for arriving early and interrupting his meeting. That left me feeling quite upset.

The only place in Mauritius we have stayed twice (African room – 3 nights; Hemingway retreat – 3 nights) during our 2 weeks trip and it was still not enough. Both rooms are very tasteful and aesthetic decorated, with pleasant beds and with a rare opportunity to have outside shower. The place itself is peaceful, but very welcoming, smiling and lovely hosts make it much more valuable. Anne is very helpful and gave us great tips for everything we were interested in. Thank you, Anne and Jean Pierre, for the opportunity to stay at your lovely home second time, very unexpected and without pre-reservation. Special thanks to Ludo for organising a very memorable hiking and very delicious dinners. BBQ was really the best of the best we have tried in Mauritius. And yes, there are some small living creatures, as everywhere in natural-friendly places, which live their own life and belong to here but they are harmless even if at first it seems a bit scaring or unusual. The environment is idyllic. Sunsets are stunning, but sunrises are even more fascinating with incredible colours, calmness and a dramatic landscape of the Le Morne. There are many places which can create a mood, but there are a few which can build a character and the Harmonie indeed belongs to them.

South AfricaMy husband was not keen on sharing the fridge with the other guests.
Harmonie is situated at the end of a little island - connected to the mainland by a short bridge. From our room and specially from the pool area the view towards the Morne mountain is unrestricted. What I liked most of all that Harmonie is a small accommodation with tastefully decorated rooms with impeccable eye for detail. We stated in the Africa room. Most wonderful is that it is very peaceful and quiet with nice seating areas, including a covered double sunbed. Absolutely a place I would like to return to next time I come to Mauritius

MoroccoThe host was quite rude ! The second Day of our stay, we've telled him about the mosquitoes , asking for solutions to the itchiness and the answer was"Allez raconter ça à quelqu'un d'autre" ( Dont bother me with that, go tell someone else) We also had some problems with the toilet flush going completly off . The smell was awful and after 3 days of "maintenance" , the host litterally accused us in a very supercilious way to having done this intentionaly by turning off the water ( there was a crank close to the toilet door ) Also , the host was very nosy during ALL our stay , coming at any time in the evening scrutting our pots when we were making dinner, turning the hood on , complaining about the barbecue we moved (litterally 10 cm) ... He makes us really really uncomfortable PS : There is plenty of very good spots to stay and the Island is truly magnificient

Poor mattress, dirty cover sheet, some pillows had no covers & needs replacement No internet in the chalet....didn't really bother, but if you need it.......?
