The room did not meet my expectations for a 5 star hotel I expected better, their hotel app to book restaurants seldomly worked and their staff was not the most helpful, to get proper assistance you need to ask management. To an extent it felt as though my husband and I were being overlooked because we are black, we would get to the dining area and always have to request for assistance because no one seemed to notice us yet everyone else around us was being served.

The beach front is lovely the pool areas are amazing

The food choice at dinner was pretty much the same style every night, cooked very well but after a week we were bored. There were cobwebs in our room and they were not cleaned whilst we were there. No turndown service, which we enjoyed on our previous stay. The rooms could do with a coat of paint and a re-fresh for a 5-star hotel. We stayed here 8 years ago and would say the standards have slightly slipped but it was busier being the Easter holidays.

The rooms were lovely, the beachfront location was amazing, and the views from the hotel were amazing. The breakfast choices were spot on and always enough space to sit in the restaurants and pool. The waiter service around the pool was fantastic, especially with young children and the staff were always so friendly and nice to our 20-month-old.

Quality of buffet meals (outside of the other restaurant offerings) was quite poor. Note that we come from Dubai with a very high standard of 5-star hotels which may have impacted our view. Food was often cold and not that tasty. After the first night we tended to avoid the buffet offering at night time and only use it for breakfast. The other restaurants on site were of a higher standard. I would recommend avoiding half or full board and just pay for meals but I don't believe that is an option here.

Facilities were great. Location perfect. Staff very friendly and helpful but overloaded from what I can only assume is a combination of high season (fully booked) and lower than required staff to guest ratio. Hotel did something special for our anniversary which was much appreciated.

Horrible impressions from the main buffet. Good food but serving, atmosphere, ambience, interior didn’t look like a 5-star hotel at all, night and day compared to the mid-range 5* hotels we visited in Mauritius.

Nice resort in Belle Mare, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff, rooms are well maintained. The overall service was very good, the restaurants and bars offered wife range of F&B. Absolutely good quality for money (we were on AI - most of the menu were included in AI package).

Location, design layout, live music at the Shores bar, courteous, polite and helpful staff. The poolside restaurants and pools. The oceanfront suite where I stayed during my visit to this hotel. The entire property is well maintained and clean.

the hot water in my bathroom was a problem, I had to complain twice about it, Also the fact that the bathroom area had no doors to close it off, I was travelling with my husband so it was ok but if my kids came to sit in our room ,having a shower or even going to the toilet while they were there was not possible as there was no privacy.

the food was good at all the restaurants we ate at. the entertainment on our last night with the live DJ was lots of fun. the pool area and the beach facilities were all good . the walk to our room everyday was beautiful

Just a few small complaints/suggestions. We arrived late in the evening directly from the airport after a long flight. The checkin process took a very long time. Had to email booking confirmation to their email while being there. By the time we checked in the room we only had 30 mins before dinner closing time and had to rush to get fresh and make it in time. The tides restaurant at lunch hours had terribly slow service. We had lunch there twice and every time it would take a long time just to get the menu. And then another long wait for someone to take order. The boat house staff did not seem welcoming and were always in a hurry to close early.

The resort itself is huge with plenty of activities happening through out the day. We stayed here in the winter months of mauritius. The pool was cold but bearable in the afternoon. We had half board so we tried all the restaurant at the hotel for dinner. The Chinese and the Japanese restaurant were really good. If i was to visit again i would only have the dinner buffet once and the a la carte restaurants more. Rooms were nice and comfortable. We had 2 interconnecting rooms and were upgraded to the beach front on the quiet side of hotel. You can easily walk around the hotel or get a drop off in one their golf carts.

It’s not worth 5 stars. The room should be refurbished, the painting was not nicely executed, the cleaning in the room was not always properly done, for a five stars the atmosphere is a bit poor, the music at the swimming pool is too loud. The establishment and especially the facilities are not refined enough.

The furniture has to be replaced because it is quite old and there is absolutely no privacy in the bathroom.
