South AfricaWe have stayed at the resort before and prices appear to have gone up substantially (could be the SA exchange rate is so bad however!). Food was a little inconsistent (we ordered quite a bit of room service).
Room was more than adequate and very comfortable although the patio chairs were not that ergonomically friendly. View from room was quite spectacular. General facilities were more than adequate & staff were generally very friendly and helpful - lots of smiling faces!

AustraliaThe rooms mini bar and drinks were not included in the 'half board option' (including drinks at dinner/ breakfast). This has been included at other resorts we've been to. One evening (soon after we arrived), my daughter and I went for a walk around the resort, we were surprised by the 'fumigation buggy' which came past us without warning. We were engulfed by the 'fumigation cloud'. We felt fine but just a bit shocked at the time, not realising what was happening.
Gorgeous resort with lovely staff. The fresh and grand entrance / reception area to the resort was an instant 'hit of luxury'. It was instantly a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere on arrival. The staff were always attentive and friendly. They catered well for both couples and families. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Loved the fresh local coffee every morning with the incredibly well provisioned and freshly prepared buffet breakfasts... sooo much to choose from! Buffet dinners were also impressive in regard to variety and freshness. As most travellers know; the food offered can make or break a holiday. Lux Grand Gaube was exceptional 👌 A special thank you to the manager and staff of the Beach Rouge restaurant on the main beach. They went the extra mile to enhance our dining experience after a very minor misunderstanding (which was no ones fault). Very gracious and generous people 🤗 We joined in on some of the free resort activities on offer which we loved, including the glass bottom boat over the nearby reef (saw a sea turtle), yoga, kayaking, water exercise classes, high intencity exercise classes, outdoor cinema and more. The resort spa was also a delight. My young daughter and I had a facial together, and then I had a fantastic warm stone massage (thank you Preeta). The ladies at the spa were very welcoming and friendly. A shout out to the resort's taxi drivers who are available on hand at reception to take you anywhere you want. Price is agreed up front and very reasonable! We found it cheaper and more personal to have one of these taxi drivers take us around to different attractions instead of booking through tour operators, etc. The driver waited for us and then took us to the next location we requested. They even suggested some places along the way which value-added to our day trips. Before going to Mauritius, I was worried about mosquitoes and the risk they posed.

AustraliaA very minor gripe, intro to the hotel when we arrived could have been better. Just told to.go on the Lux app. We had to ask for replacement items I.e. we had to ask for a face washer, body soap, tea bags etc. Distance to the airport and to the south was an hour to an hour and a half. Expected the waters at the hotel beach to be crystal clear and blue, but they were a bit murky. Also was hoping for better snorkelling - need to go elsewhere for good snorkelling.
Hotel was exceptional. Lots of activities at the hotel, staff were amazing and the food at all the different restaurants was really good. Not much to walk to around the locak area close to the hotel.

FranceNothing, though few comments for potential travelers: - the adult beach is not made at all for swimming: 30cms of depth max and cloudy water; - better to have your own car if you want to explore the north east coast (and you should definitely do it); and - if you are not staying in the adult section, be aware that you may hear quite a lot of screaming toddlers.
This place looks like heaven on earth. The whole domain has been thought of to offer you countless activities and sights during your stay and this proves very efficient. Protected from winds by superb and giant banyans, the hotel is majestic and magnificent. A portion of it is adult only (with its own beach and pool) and is located far enough from the rest of the complex not to hear a single child. Don’t miss on the many free activities proposed, including a breathtaking snorkeling session on a corral reef by boat and the tennis courts (including rackets and balls). For Mauritius, the quality/price ratio was fantastic.

Our stay at lux Grand gaube was absolutely amazing. I can’t fault this resort on anything. The staff were absolutely amazing. Every single person went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. From the beach staff, to restaurant staff, to front desk staff, the porters and kids club staff. Wow wow wow. We truly made friends with everyone here. The facilities were absolutely amazing. Our check in went smooth. We got a welcome drink which was very delicious. We were shown around and no stone was left unturned. They carried every bit of luggage for us. All the activities are offered for free no extra charge for them. My kids loved the kids club and the hotel offers a lot of activities for kids and adults. You are never bored. The most memorable activity is the Friday night Mauritian night where kids are dressed up and everyone joins in on the fun. Our room was spectacular and perfect. Very clean, and the Aircon works very well. Our view was also great. Our luggage was delivered to our room and without asking they removed the plastic wrap for us. When I say we did not lift a finger, I mean it. There is even a very nice gentlemen that even cleans your sunglasses on the beach for you and sprays face mist for you every few minutes. We also loved that the hotel offers cold water dispensers infused with flavour at the pool and beach that is always ice cold. So we were always hydrated and no charge. Honestly this hotel was magical. We will definately be back. Nothing was missing. Our room was serviced daily. And the hotel is just so beautiful. You really are spoilt 24/7. The hotel also offers a taxi service and the amazing thing is that every time you leave the hotel that taxi driver is responsible for you until you return to the hotel. They make sure you return. You always feel safe. The restaurants are also amazing. Our personal fave was the buffet and bodrum blue. We were truly spoilt by the staff. We even got a little bracelet on our checkout, spoilt beyond words.

SingaporeThe location is at the far end of the island. Also, some staff can be intrusive and lack of personal boundaries. My door was suddenly opened at 8.30pm by a housekeeping worker which was very disturbing since I’m already resting in my bed. The staff working at the water sports facilities (those who handle the water ski and water peddling facilities) were very intrusive. Asking me private questions and making assumptions about my life when I’m just trying to play the water sports. Those questions were unnecessary and I did not feel comfortable. It would be good for the resort to train staff on how to better communicate with solo female guest rather than assuming every woman should have a husband with her and questioning the guest if she does not have one.
Many facilities in the resort and the room is super comfortable. Private beach is a perfect place to laze around. Also, most of the staff are friendly and helpful. A good resort for a beach vacation.

She ensured that our mornings started off on the right note, providing us with a beautiful array of fruits and making us feel incredibly welcome each day. Jean Christophe's outstanding customer service and meticulous attention to detail did not go unnoticed. His dedication to ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect was truly commendable. He even went above and beyond to ensure our last meal at the hotel was an unforgettable culinary experience. Sahid's infectious smile and genuine willingness to engage in quick chats added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. It's these small interactions that truly make a difference and contribute to the overall outstanding customer service at Lux Grand Gaube. And then there's Mario, the legend of Lux. His friendly disposition and helpful attitude embodied the spirit of hospitality that Lux Grand Gaube is known for. Last but not least, Nooranee at the fish section deserves a special mention for providing us with the best culinary delights and invaluable information about the local cuisine. United Arab EmiratesI honestly can't name a thing. Even little hiccups that were just normal were dealt with swiftly with lot of smiles attached.
It's not that I liked anything at the resort. Me and my partner - we LOVED it! Phenomenal, cozy and welcoming interior design that doesn't pretend to be more than it is, just does everything it's supposed to do perfectly! Incredibly welcoming, hospitable staff (Jean Christophe! I'm still daydreaming about the feast you served! Dominique! Thank you for the great dinner! All other people I just don't remember the names of. THANK YOU!). Hospitality on the highest possible level where the staff seems to have been reading our minds and offering a hand before we even got the chance to ask. All of it amounted to a HEAVENLY stay. And yes - the caps are fully intentional as I won't be able to keep this review concise if I go into the details of how amazing our stay was. Again. Huge thank you and we do hope to see you some time soon.
